Please take a quick look at our video of this wonderful Emerson survivor from the mid 1930′s – it looks amazing – and then read all the details below! The Radio was made in the USA by Emerson! The solid walnut Ingraham cabinet is refinished and looks very nice. Only very minor wear is shown most notably a small hairline crack on the left side of the dial lens – that’s about it. This radio is special because it has a working phono input – so you can use all of your modern devices like iPod’s MP3′s & smartphone to play whatever music you choose through the original speaker of the radio – I tested it and it works great (see video). It is powered by 5 tubes and has a large and capable 6 inch speaker! The radio’s electronics have been serviced and as a result it sounds very good and pulls in stations both near and far. Emerson was one of the only brands that could officially use the Ingraham stamp on their radios. Ingraham was known for high quality workmanship and use of dramatic veneers. This radio is made of solid walnut. This radio model is sought after by radio collectors that covet Emerson, Ingraham cabinets, and Art Deco Depression Era memorabilia. Then scroll down below the video to finish reading all the details that makes this radio so exceptional! As you can hear, this Emerson. Sounds amazing for an 80 year old radio built during the Roosevelt Administration! It pulls in stations loud and clear with no hum. Volume control is smooth with no scratch or pop noises. The dial light works and lights the stations in a dark room or light room for that matter. The dial needle moves in sync with the tuning knob as designed and it is in good condition. There is only very minor wear on the case, barely visible in normal light, but given the age you will find minor imperfections and blemishes on the front, sides, back, top, and bottom of the radio. There is no back on the radio – they were made of wood, and it’s very hard to find them intact. The cabinet is really beautiful on this one. The Ingraham Emerson models are not common in this kind of condition cosmetically and certainly rarely found in restored electronic condition. We checked the online value site, Worth point, and found most of these models nowhere near the condition of our example. This radio is one of those rare opportunities collectors should take advantage of and it would look good with any home décor, or in your office, and would also make a unique gift! A conversation piece and a statement piece. Crosley radios are legendary – now you can own a beautiful functioning piece of art from yesteryear. Dimension: 12″ in length X 9″ high X 7 in depth.
