The only thing I have never been able to figure out is how the alarm works. The rear setting dial will set the alarm and the clock, but I never understood which hand is for the alarm. Otherwise, the radio works, the backlight works, and it has all the turn dials that also work. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send me a message.

Working Vintage Philco Brown Bakelite? Radio “Hippo” 1940′s 12″ x 7 1/2″x 6. I was using it to listen to the Cubs games. Clean and very good physical condition. Scuffs and scratching due to age and use. There is a ding in the glass as shown in the photos. Please see all the photos for condition details as they are part of the description. We recycle packing materials. Smoke and pet free home.

Hallicrafter fans, have you seen one of these? So, is it a rare model? Leatherette wood cabinet in good condition and repaired. Restored, aligned, capacitors replaced. Tested for 24 hours on AC power. I really like the bronze-brass brown lettering contrasting front panel finish on this piece. Telescoping antenna is in excellent condition. It’s a great old radio. I replaced the carrying handle and leather headphone straps on the interior. I did NOT test for battery operation. Works great on AC. All Four Bands tested and working. Tunes from 170KC to 11MC in four bands. I test them thoroughly and check one last time before packing. If you have issues please contact me. I will do my best to help you. It is greatly appreciated.
