Model 912 Series D. Hi, Jimmy O here. Thanks for stopping by to see my latest restoration. What an amazing player; Emerson spared no expense in the quality and workmanship that went into every detail of this beautiful machine It was a real pleasure to bring this player back to life, and it now looks, perhaps, even nicer than it did new! Check out the video below for a small sample of what this Emerson sounds like! 1959 Emerson Hi-Fi Record Player/Radio Restored and Beautiful! This player is just so cool looking, with its striking vintage black and amber cabinet, and silver and black grill cloth. The entire cabinet was recovered with vintage style coverings, the exact same kind used back in the day See close ups of the wonderful quality and texture of the covering. Emerson has always been well known for their beautiful sounding radios and phonographs, and this model is equipped with one of their best audio systems. Sporting a 7 tube amplifier, with a 12AX7, dual 25EH5 outputs, and a 35W4 rectifier tube The tubes are original 1950s Emerson Dumont, and all tested super strong! Replacement tubes are always readily available. For this player should the need ever are… The automatic 4 speed Glaser Steers record changer is also fantastic, with its awesome 50s accents, control knobs, and beautiful original cream paint. It was completely taken apart, and redone to work as it should.. The record changer, control panel and knobs are in such fine condition, it looks as though this console was hardly ever used. The tonearm has a new stereo cartridge, and a brand new stylus, so you can play both stereo or mono LPs on this. This is an automatic changer, so you can stack records, and each one will play in turn, and the changer will shut off after the last record has played. The cool part of this Glaser Steers changer, is that it has dual drive wheels; one for automatically changing the record, and another for playing. The platter actually stops still while the record drops, and then runs once the tone arm sets down on the record… A brilliant design indeed! Here’s the radio section in operation.. FM stereo was new in 1959. And this actually has a setting. You’ll hear it in the video when I select it.. 1959 Emerson Hi-Fi Record Player Restored and Beautiful! This HiFi has a nice large three way speaker system One large Alnico speaker in the cabinet, and a pair located inside the top lid. The top speaker lid comes off, and has a long generous length of speaker cord, so you can place it anywhere you like for brilliant, full Stereo sound! This also has dual pilot lights in the front glass sections, that gives a nice warm glow at night. The FM light comes on when you select FM… A nice bonus feature is the external FM antenna hook ups in the back, in case you want to run a longer antenna, though there is an internal antenna located inside the bottom of the cabinet. What a classy and beautifully designed HiFi from Emerson. Lovingly restored, and sure to bring you and your family many years of listening pleasure! Restoring America, one record player at a time!
