Classy Vintage 1946 Philco Transitone Model 46-200 Table Radio Working

Welcome To JNS Vintage Radios and Tubes. A beautiful table radio. The chassis was removed and sent our technician for a rebuild. The chassis received new modern caps. The resistors where checked, replacing those that were shown to be out of spec. Tubes were tested replacing the 14B6 and the 7A8. All tubes test 85% or better. A new dial light was installed along with a new dial cover and line cord. A spot-on alignment tops off this chassis rebuild. The chassis tunes in local and farther away stations with ease. The case was refinished in Antique White. No cracks or deep scratches. No back cover available as they usually don’t survive the years. If you don’t have a 46-200 in your collection this is an excellent example. Measures: 10″ x 6″ x 6. Send us your zip code or Country. Come visit our store. Please view the photos as they are part of the description. Proud Members of the California Historical Radio Society. Please read the listing in its entirety to understand what you are purchasing. If any information is unclear, it’s far better to ask questions now than to have a return. JNS Vintage Radios and Tubes aims to be as accurate as possible with describing and testing of radios and tubes. However, we are not experts in all Radios, Electronic Equipment and Tubes. All our vacuum tubes are checked and tested on a rebuilt, calibrated Hickok 539B. Each tube is tested for quality, grid emissions and shorts. No tube is offered for sale that tests below 75% of 100%. All tube testers are not created equal, and your tester may have a higher or lower reading than our equipment. All antique and vintage radios are cleaned and tested where possible. We provide an accurate description of the condition within the listing. Each radio is wrapped in bubble wrap, packed with peanuts and when necessary, squares of Styrofoam are used to protect glass dials, knobs and switches. We now offer restored radios/chassis by Mike’s Radio Restorations here in the Sierra. Mike has over 45 years as a electronics technician in the communications industry and has provided quality radio restorations. If you receive your item and it is damaged. Communication is the key to a successful return. We are proud of our feedback profile maintaining a 100% satisfaction rate for over 6 years. This initial step protects both of us and ensures that claims get approved and paid fast. Thank you visiting our store and selecting us to serve your vacuum tube and vintage radio needs. This EMERSON 587A is the more classy and appealing model of the 587 line due to the nifty woven grille compared to the later production 587B with the metal version. The material of the casing was a new plastic of the era known as Plaskon, this one in Black/Ebony (some models were also in White/Ivory). Suitable for Restoration, Rejuvenation or Essential Parts. Please look at all the pictures (actual, not stock) part of the description and judge for yourself the potential for restoring/rejuvenating to the almost original appearance and function of this cute version of the bygone era’All American Five’ radios. The casing is intact without cracks, missing portions or other blemishes which can be a discouraging restoration issue with an inferior outcome Note that the Flash photos enhance tremendously almost 70 years of dust and dust specs. No moldy/musty damp basement odor. The chassis, the critical and model specific major components on/off switch-volume pot, variable capacitor and front knob tuning mechanism /speaker/IF cans, output transformer etc. The tubes /valves have been checked with a calibrated Eico 667 and found to be strong, without shorts or inter-electrode leakage and good longevity (not immortality). It goes without saying that the electrolytic and paper capacitors must be replaced appropriately and a safe power cord attached. For potential international buyers, nominal voltage 115 V AC 50-60 cycles or theoretically DC! Briefly powered up (with 30 Watts incandescent light bulb for safety) :as expected after almost seven decades, background hum, tuning to strong stations, working volume control! Approximate dimensions: 9″ x 5.5″ x 5.5 (23 x 14 x14 cm). Make sure of its suitability for your specific needs. Make sure when working with tube/valve electronics that you are Cognizant, Comfortable, Cautious and with Company.
