Restored in the early 2000s: beautifully re-chromed! Missing backplate and has a small chip in the number “6″ but otherwise very nice condition. It seems to be working, as I plugged it in and pulled out the wire. And turned the dials and got static (I’m not sure how to tune it). Size: 8.25 x 5 x 4 inch / 210 x 127 x 102 mm. Tubes: 12SA7GT, 12SQ7GT, 50L6GT, 35Z5GT. Comments: Tablemodel with metal (painted) case. Power type and voltage: AC/DC-set / 105-125 Volt. Beautiful RED vintage Travler radio model 5028A. Measures 8-3/4″ across, 5″ tall, and 5 deep. The case has faux alligator leather type covering. Overall looks very nice. There is one knob missing. The electrical cord is in poor condition and would need replaced if used – it is untested. Otherwise it could use some cleaning. Please see photos for detailed condition. Condition: A beautiful post war radio by Airline. The clean chassis was removed and sent to our technician for upgraded caps and replacement of out of spec resistors. The tubes tested 80% or better. No dial light for this model. The original speaker looks great and sounds great. This radio easily tunes in our local stations. The modern plastic case and knobs received a coat of gloss Red enamel which offsets the blemish free beautiful Gold dial. The original back cover is in excellent condition for it’s age. Overall, this radio was well taken care of and a great looking post war radio that would look great as an Art Deco piece in your home or added to any collection. This one won’t disappoint. This vintage tabletop clock/radio manufactured by Zenith in 1953 is a beautiful addition for anyone looking for a unique piece of mid-century America. I plugged it in and in a minute or so the tubes heated up and the radio came to life. The clock hands move, the front setting adjustments work, and the all adjustment knobs are in place. The Gumby Green Bakelite cabinet looks new. There are no cracks, chips or major scratches. The cabinet feet on the bottom show normal paint wear from sitting on a surface. Everything works great except the clock adjustment stem on the back. It seems to be locked. While it should be a straight forward repair, I do not have the confidence to access the gearing. It looks great sitting on the bookshelf. There are very few signs of aging and it looks new! Please see pictures for a better description.
