An exceptional, highly sought-after piece of broadcasting history that retains its original internal paper schematic layout label! Makes a phenomenal shelf display or a rewarding winter restoration project. Brand: Coronado (Gamble-Skogmo House Brand). Model Number: 575 (Confirmed by the original internal paper cabinet label). Production Year: Circa 1935 / 1936. Cabinet Material: Walnut Wood (Tombstone style). Features: Gorgeous airplane dial with pre-war “Police” markings, original brass Coronado lower shield badge, original matching wood grain control knobs, and an authentic purple-tinted fabric grill cloth insert. Technical Note: The power cord has been previously updated with a safe, modern replacement cord (not original brittle cloth). When briefly plugged in, the unit successfully receives power, the main rectifier tube lights up with an authentic orange filament glow. The left volume/power knob turns smoothly. The middle band switch knob rotates freely without clicking. The right tuning knob is currently stuck/firm (likely needs a standard replacement dial cord string or lubrication). The wooden cabinet is structurally solid and sturdy but displays honest character wear. Notably, there is a prominent vertical strip of missing veneer along the back edge of the left side panel (please see the dedicated side photo for an exact look at this specific flaw).
