1 AR-2 was the 14 VDC version while the AR-6 Receiver was the 24 VDC version. Many units in the AR/AT series were stenciled with the operating voltage on the front panel. These were labeled this was so as to prevent the installation of the 14 volt version in an aircraft with a 28 volt electrical system. Making this mistake would result in blown tube filaments as well as damage/destruction of the dynamotor, band change motor, function change motor, pilot lamps, microphone, BFO relay, muting relay etc. 2 The AR-2 was paired with the AT-1 transmitter when used with a 12 VDC power source. 3 One application for these radios found its way into the Blackburn Shark aircraft. In another application, the AR-2 /radio was fitted into boats of the RCAF marine squadrons. Has Not Been Tested. Please Contact Me to Resolve Any Issues Prior to Completing Feedback or Ratings.
