Volume was not very loud though. May need servicing but it does work. Comes exactly as shown, see pictures.

Vintage SILVERTONE police aircraft TUBE RADIO. I plugged the radio in and it lights up and I can hear static. I turned the knobs and it tried to get a station in but I was unsuccessful. Radio looks complete from what I can tell. Please let me know if you would like a better picture of something. This came from a storage unit and dont know allot on these.

Vintage WWII 1940′s Type CAY 47153A NAVY Aircraft Transmitter Radio Tuning Unit. This interesting piece of military history would make a wonderful addition to any military collection and would certainly be a great conversation piece. It has the original steel case. All the dials, inscriptions, hardware, original specification plates are in great condition. The outer steel case has some wear and dents as expected from age and use. I have no way of actually testing this tuning unit and would not want to damage any of the components. This is very heavy and weighs a little over 18 pounds.

Has scratches and niks on wood case. Did not bring any clear stations. The selector knob has static when turned. Measures 20 1/2″ wide x 11 1/2″ front to back x 12 tall to furthest points. Here’s a beautiful RCA Model 28T Tube Radio! Picks up Broadcast, Police, Aircraft, and Amateur bands. Excellent condition, with just a little light veneer lifting at one bottom corner, no big deal. Has all it’s tubes, radio hums when turned on, so will need to be recapped. A nice electronic project, and you don’t need to refinish the cabinet! 1 AR-2 was the 14 VDC version while the AR-6 Receiver was the 24 VDC version. Many units in the AR/AT series were stenciled with the operating voltage on the front panel. These were labeled this was so as to prevent the installation of the 14 volt version in an aircraft with a 28 volt electrical system. Making this mistake would result in blown tube filaments as well as damage/destruction of the dynamotor, band change motor, function change motor, pilot lamps, microphone, BFO relay, muting relay etc. 2 The AR-2 was paired with the AT-1 transmitter when used with a 12 VDC power source. 3 One application for these radios found its way into the Blackburn Shark aircraft. This particular unit was one of the later units manufactured. A few of the specs are as follows. 14 volt DC powered. Manufactured by RCA in their Camden, NJ plant. Tube Lineup: 6B8, 6C5, 6F7, 6J7, 6K7(3), 991, 41. Tube Functions: 1RF(6K7), 2RF(6K7), 1DET(6J7), HFO(6C5), VR(991), 1IF(6K7), 2IF/CWO(6F7), 3IF/2DET/AVC(6B8), OUTPUT(41). 1.5-18 mc and 200-500 kc tuning range. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself. I do not have the proper equipment to test this piece.
