Wonderful example of a late pre-war wooden table radio with Art-Deco design elements. Check out the dial silk-screen. It is in working condition, having been fully serviced some years ago with all tube sockets and controls cleaned, capacitors replaced, power cord, out of spec resistors and new dial cord. Somewhat rare as it is a pre-war and having a single Loktal tube and permanent magnet speaker. Would look amazing if cabinet were to be touched-up. I will miss this one in my collection and will be a great addition to yours.
16″ Long x 6″ Wide. Radio has some damage. Hole on right side, missing pieces. Tested & Works Great! Please see our pictures of the actual item. Very Hard to Find in this Color!

You will look very long and very hard for a marbled plascon radio in this original condition. Offered for your consideration is this General Electric tabletop tube radio – model C-421, manufactured in the mid 1950′s. It has a striking 50′s looking step design. The radio is in good condition. The plascon cabinet colour is dark burgundy with wine, red and black mottling colours running through it. The oversized 6 inch oval speaker is loud and clear and the radio brings in a lot of stations. This is a working radio ready to play, display and enjoy – the sound is very good with no. As with all my radios it is electrically fit – the tubes are strong and all of the original capacitors have been replaced. Also featuring: classic 50′s body styling, a very unique dial light – it is behind the dial pointer and in a darkened room, it moves with the pointer; the grill is silver and louvred; the knobs are in good shape – both work smoothly ; the cabinet has no cracks or dings and is very shiny; the polarized cord is new; the original back is present, as is the original decal on the bottom. The measurements are: 13″ across, 9″ high and 7 wide.
This is a rare radio that you’re not going to see every day. It’s a 1940 carryabout portable radio that could be powered with line voltage or battery. It is not working and needs to be completely rewired and restored. I think it would also be a cool candidate to convert to a Bluetooth radio. It does have the previous owner’s name and rank written on the bottom right corner. Lt Colonel Fred H. I assume he’s the one that put the luggage decals on it during his travels giving this old radio a truly unique look as a piece of luggage. Measures approximately 14.7 x 10.6 x 5.1 inches and weighs approximately 14 pounds. Please see pictures for condition and let me know if you have any questions.
