Always offering beautifully restored tube radios. 1947 RCA’Radiola’ 76ZX11 Bakelite Tube Radio. From a time when radio was king and from one of the most popular names in radio manufacturing, this early first production run 1947 Radiola bakelite gem from RCA is sure to please. Packed with an early robust sounding 6 tube chassis complete with the correct RC1058 first run production stamp (the RC1058 A stamped chassis are second production runs). Flawless original speaker and absolutely factory mint glass dial scale. This gorgeous bakelite set is loaded with streamlined design at every turn providing endless visual appeal. Rich dark chocolate bakelite cabinet that has been both machine buffed and hand polished to a mirror-like reflectivity. Robust not only in sound but also in size, i t measures 7 3/4″ tall X 12″ wide X 7 deep. This is a fully restored and working radio that is ready to play, display and enjoy for years to come. In the interest of safety, performance and reliability ALL paper, wax and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with modern day equivalents. Any resistors testing out of their allotted tolerance have been replaced. Every tube was tested and replaced if found to be under performing. Voltages are checked against the manufacturers specs. All moving parts are lubricated for smooth operation. A brand new power cord is added to replace the unsafe and brittle original. The signal strength is then aligned to factory specs to provide peak performance. Lastly, the set is then put through its paces by bench testing it for a minimum of 48 hours (sometimes even longer) to ensure reliability and to allow for a proper’burn in’ period for new components. As a result of this entire restoration process, the set performs clearly, strongly and with that unmistakable tube driven sound. No cracks, breaks or chips. Machine buffed and hand polished to a mirror-like reflectivity. Rich dark chocolate bakelite that has been restored back to it’s original and historically accurate color (no crazy paint schemes) all while retaining the natural qualities and textures of the bakelite. No clear coats, lacquers or top coats. No oils and No’quick shine’ tricks are ever used. With each of my professionally polished radio cabinets I invest significant time and attention to detail in order to bring you a radio that is worth displaying in your prized collection or proudly accenting your home or office decor. No shortcuts are taken. Quality is the end goal. Knobs & Dial Scale. This radio comes complete with the original bakelite knobs. Just like the cabinet, each has been machine buffed and hand polished to a gorgeously natural satin luster with no cracks or breaks. The glass slide rule dial scale is perfect in every way looking just as it did the day it left the factory. Excellent coloring, numbering and wording with absolutely no flaking or fading of any kind. The backboard is newer and something that I created here in my own shop. It’s very sturdy, fits tightly and the hourglass shape provides plenty of ventilation for the chassis.
