This highly sought after radio has a stunning cabinet design by the famed Ingraham Company. With sexy curves and alluring lines, it is a sight to behold. The dial face backing is the actual wood finish of the cabinet which is unusual, but very appealing with the soft back lighting. Ingraham cabinets are very well made, and the combination of various high quality wood solids and veneers make their cabinets among the very best and appealing. This radio is an exceptional representation of the beauty and quality of their work. It even includes the original booklet that came with the radio in 1946! (It was found folded up & unmolested on the inside of the cabinet for all these years). It is in excellent restored condition and it sounds great too with that rich and full tube sound. With six tubes, it has very good sensitivity, selectivity and reception. Using the internal loop antenna. It also has tone control for your listening preference. S with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. The cabinet was stripped of the old varnish and lacquer, keeping the original stain. It was then nourished and rejuvenated. Various toners were used for the top and bottom trim and for highlighting before receiving seven coats of clear lacquer with excellent results. The dial face is in excellent condition with crisp and clear graphics that are nicely lighted. The original knobs have been cleaned and polished. The power cord was replaced with a cloth covered one. The original back cover/antenna assembly is in very good condition. Felt pads were added to the bottom to protect your furniture. This highly desirable radio demands a place of distinction. Just imagine all of the news of the world, music and stories this wonderful radio has broadcast since right after WWII ended! Now 74 years old and newly restored inside and out, it will continue to provide many more years of enjoyment if well cared for. It is doubtful that you will find another for sale that is in as good of restored condition. Dimensions: 15.5x9x8.5. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off.
