This stunning clock radio radio is a great example of late 1940′s styling. The thick plastic case is made of Plaskon in an ivory/white color. The radio is a typical All-American-Five tube circuit, but with all octal tubes — probably one of the last clock radios to use octal tubes before everyone started using the 7-pin miniature tubes that had been developed during WWII. This radio is in outstanding cosmetic condition. The Plaskon case is smooth and shiny with no cracks or chips. All the knobs are original and it even has the original labels on the back and bottom (see photos). Inside, this radio has been completely recapped (sorry, no photo). As a result this radio plays with plenty of volume and good tone. The clock works too, keeping accurate time and performing the automatic radio alarm function. This is a very well made radio with a classic design that could be a great part of your vintage decor or a nice addition to an antique radio collection. I have been collecting and restoring vintage radios and TV’s for a very long time. Please see my other auctions for more vintage antique radios, TV’s, and other electronic items.
