Throughout our restoration process we are conscience of preserving the natural wood elements and that all design features remain intact. The cabinet goes through an extensive revitalization process to preserve and retain the hand craftsmanship of these exceptionally designed American cabinets. Using a multi-step sanding process, we carefully remove by hand all the layers of your great grandparent’s old dark mahogany stain, as well as all other repairs needed for these masterpieces. Once the cabinet reaches the bare wood stage, modern day stains and toners are used to highlight the natural wood grains. The cabinet is then treated with a series of thin high gloss clear coat lacquer applications in a controlled environment. The action of wet sanding is applied between each clear coat, eliminating any orange peel effect. A final hand-glazing is applied, ensuring for a beautiful mirror like luster and shine! We strive to bring these cabinets back to life, the way we feel they should have or could have looked. By using modern day custom color stain blends and toner color accent options that ceased to exist in the past, along with our combined color & finish studies enable us to complete these cabinets in a.
