Vintage Philco Model 70 Cathedral radio that is in good working condition. The radio is able to receive stations quite readily with an antenna wire attached to the rear connection. Sound is good, with minimal background noise and the volume is strong. The dial indicator functions properly as well. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. The base molding is separated slightly, but can easily be remedied with a little glue. The original power cord is in good condition with some minor fraying. The grill cloth is in excellent condition, with no rips or holes, but I believe this to be a period replacement. The cardboard frame that typically separates the speaker from the grill cloth is missing. The grill does have a few stress cracks as shown in the photos and two sections are slightly pressed inward. To ensure that no further damage occurs to this area, extra care will be made in packaging. Two of the condenser cans are taped at the base with electrical tape. Three of the screws that attach the chassis to the body are new. Great looking vintage radio to add to your collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered.
