Model: 37-620B – Philco, Philadelphia Stg. Tablemodel, Tombstone = decorative upright, not cathedral but can have rounded edges. The Philco model 37-620 series (1936-37) is the follow-on to the earlier model 620 series (1935-36). Like the 620 series, the 37-620 series has a 6-tube 3-band chassis, but is updated with octal tubes. Band coverage is BC, 2.3-7.4 MHz, and 7.35-22 MHz. There are two versions of the chassis, marked with code 121 and code 125, with minor circuitry differences between the two (see schematics). There are four models in the series with different cabinet styles. Model 37-620B is a tombstone with a slightly trapezoidal profile and rounded top corners. Br/> Model 37-620J is a floor-type console, also with a slightly trapezoidal profile, and three vertical bars in front of the speaker. Model 37-611K has vertical and diagonal bars in the speaker opening, in a pattern reminiscent of the feathers and shaft of an arrow pointing downward. Model 37-620CS is Philco’s only chairside radio for the 1937 model year. This model has the controls and dial in a recessed area on the top surface of the cabinet.
