I have tested the radio. It turns on, the tubes warm up and it appears to cycle through all the stations correctly. In all appearances, this is a fully functional radio!!!! The outside cabinet is in really great shape. A couple of minor blemishes up top as you can see in the actual photos but all in all, this is in the best shape of any Model 808 I have ever seen! It measures roughly: 13″ wide, 16″ high and 8.5 deep. It weighs over 18lbs. The beautiful Zenith model 808, by comparison with the entry level. Features both upgraded cabinetry and electronics. The cabinet adds decorative inlays, molded trim pieces and more exotic veneers and the electronics is enhanced through the addition of a tun. Ed RF stage and a third band – the former police band. The 6-tube line-up is:- 6D6 (RF), 6A7 (mixer/LO), 6D6 (IF), 75 (2nd detector/AVC/1st AF), 42 (AF power) and 80 (rectifier). The schematic may be found online. Controls are volume/on/off, tuning, tone and band sel ection. The item “1934 Vintage Zenith TOMBSTONE Tube Radio model 808 WORKS” is in sale since Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
