This rare stunner looks amazing with its black Bakelite cabinet and sounds awesome after receiving a thorough electronic restoration. A great accompaniment for your new vintage tube radio! This model Is hard to come by, I was very surprised when I saw it Stewart Warner radios are famous for their engineering and designs especially their wood radios but their Bakelite and Plastic radios are not often found in this kind of condition. This radio is in excellent condition indeed. It has great reception and selectivity and the build quality is excellent Stewart Warner was known for its quality in their day. This radio is perfect for collectors or for an interior designer that needs a rare and functional display piece for that special clients office or home! It will go with any décor. It would also make a very unique gift for anyone including you! Get your own valid XHTML YouTube embed code. As you can hear, the radio sounds excellent, no hum and the controls all work as designed. The radio has had its electronics restored, the chassis was cleaned, the controls cleaned and lubricated, the case polished, and the tubes replaced as needed if weak, capacitors replaced as needed also. This one is going to create quite a stir as to find one in such good shape is quite uncommon and even less so electronically restored it also has its original knobs! Made in the USA – In Chicago, Illinois! By the Stewart Warner Corporation. There are minor imperfections here and there that are not easily seen particularly on the front center dial cap, and on various spots on the case there are imperfections and blemishes however, not easy to see and nothing too. Significant or that detract from the overall look of the radio. There is no dial light on this model though the reflective brite on the dial reflects the sun and can look like it has one. Knobs are present and original. Stewart Warner was founded as Stewart & Clark Company in 1905 by John K. They made speedometers for the Ford Model T. In 1912 John Stewart joined with Edgar Bassick to make vehicle instruments and horns. Bassick owned Alemite Co and Stewart had bought the Warner Instrument Company, thus the name was changed to Stewart-Warner Corporation. The company started in Chicago and built a manufacturing plant. The building kept expanding and finally covered one-million square feet and six floors. They made many products such as refrigerators and screw machines, and later scoreboards used by stadiums, however, they were very well known for their beautiful radio cabinets that they produced, especially from the 1930s, with attention to detail that few manufacturers could match at the time. Stewart Warner was also one of the biggest US suppliers / contractors to support the war effort during World War 2. Today Stewart Warners Radios are among the most sought after antique radios for their detailed designs & the scarcity of remaining models in good condition. Dimension: 12″ in length X 9 high X 7″ in depth. I use plenty of Bubble Wrap, extra padding and double box or use extra box support material. It will be marked Fragile & This side up on the box to make sure it is handled carefully. The radio is fully insured. A small sampling of my feedback. Best packaging ever for a vintage radio – I really appreciate it. Fantastic radio as advertised, careful and thoughtful packaging. If there are any problems, please contact me and we can review options.
