Called the’Radio Nurse’, this is one of the earliest examples of a baby monitor receiver. Dark brown bakelite case with marbled handle. Measures 5 ½ by 6 ½ by 8 ½ tall. Condition: Several scratches and scuffs. One small chip on back but no cracks. Please see all pics for details. Has not been tested as cord is completely shot. It was designed and produced the design in 1937 for the Zenith Radio Corporation. In 1939 it was displayed at the Whitney Museum of American Art’s annual sculpture exhibition, where Time Magazine called it the’most exotic’ exhibit in the show.
