Hard to Find Vintage 1933 Emerson Model 20A Bakelite Tube Radio Looks Great

Vintage Emerson Model 20A bakelite tabletop radio from 1933 that is a must have for the collector. Overall the condition of the body is very good, with a tiny nick on the top front edge and a small piece of the rear panel missing – where the bottom center screw would be placed. Electronically, the radio only hums when turned on, so it will need to be restored to get it playing. The original cloth power cord is in fair condition, with some exterior fraying and black electrical tape in spots. The dials turn smoothly and properly. Vintage Philco Model 44 Cathedral Radio Looks Great Perfect Candidate to Restore

Vintage Philco Model 44 Cathedral radio that has been electronically restored to some extent, but is not functioning – appears that more work needs to be done. Photo shows that most of the caps have been replaced, but when the radio was turned on, there was a distinct odor, indicating that something burned out. However, it will probably not take much more to get the radio functioning. Radio has Broadcast, Police, Shortwave and Amateur bands, each of which light up when the dial is turned. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. There are few spots where the veneer has bubbled up, but overall the appearance is very good. All of the dials turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well. Grill cloth has no rips or holes and the cloth power cord is in excellent condition. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered. Vintage Zenith Model 6-S-229 Tombstone radio that has been electronically restored, with new caps throughout, and is in good working condition. Radio has broadcast, shortwave and police bands. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. Grill cloth is in great shape, with no rips or holes and the cloth power cord is a period replacement that is in excellent condition. All of the knobs turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions as well. Unfortunately only the “fast moving” indicator is present. The slower moving indicator which will inficate the station is not present. A replacement can easily be obtained. Great radio to add to your collection. Vintage Zenith Model 5-S-127 Tombstone radio that is a good candidate for restoration. The radio is not functioning – radio only hums when turned on, but all of the tubes tested good on my Eico Model 625 tube tester. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. Unfortunately, someone put something hot on the top of the radio that left an impression in the varnish. A similar defect is just above the dial on the front and along the right side. The knobs turn smoothly and properly, but the dial indicator is not functioning. Grill cloth is in great shape, with no rips or holes and the cloth power cord is in good condition with one section that is frayed. Great radio to add to your collection. Highly sought after Zenith Model 6-S-321 “Stars & Stripes” Model radio that features a greaairplane dial and 5 pushbuttons above the dial. Radio receives stations quite readily with minimal background noise and the volume is good with an antenna attached to the back connection. (Antenna not included) All of the dials move properly and smoothly and the dial indicator functions properly as well. Grill cloth is in very good condition with no rips, holes or fraying. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. The front and sides have a burled walnut faux finish, which really makes this piece stand out. There are two small spots on the upper right side where the finish has come off, but it does not detract from the overall appearance of the radio. The power cord is in good condition, still plyable. This receiver looks fantastic. The faceplate is just about perfect, the cabinet has it’s original paint with very few scratches, and the copper chassis has very little oxidation. It’s complete, and some of the capacitors appear to have been replaced at some point (I don’t know when). Other than those caps, it looks original and unmodified. It powers up and the tube filaments glow, but no further testing has been done. This will make an excellent candidate for electrical restoration! This is a vintage piece of equipment that’s been sitting in storage for many years, possibly decades. When electronics sit for this long without being used, components go bad. Electrical components will certainly need to be replaced, and we simply don’t have the time to do this work. BUSH VALVE RADIO TYPE DAC70 MAINS MW/LW. In really nice used condition. I took lots of pics for you to judge and see. Switch it on, takes about 10-15 secs to warm up, then there is a gentle constant hum. It easily picks up lots of stations on both MW + LW and you dont really hear any hum once tuned into a station. The only negative i can see is that the red center dial is not original as says MW / VHF… I didnt even notice until i took pics! I would much prefer collection but will take ages to bubble wrap inside and out and put in strong box hence high posting cost. From a smoke free home.
