This Ranger is in pretty good cosmetic condition. The cabinet has been repainted but looks fairly well done. The faceplate is original, and while there are some chips in the paint on the edges/corners, it looks good overall with all the printing in great condition. All controls feel good. It appears that a new power cord has been installed (still has the original fused-plug), and there may be a few other parts replaced inside. The larger capacitors all look original. The transmitter was briefly powered on. This equipment is part of a very large silent-key estate we recently acquired, all of which has been in a storage unit for approximately 15 years. We have not done any testing beyond what is specifically mentioned above. There are a few reasons for this, but it essentially comes down to the fact that they almost always need some level of service and it’s simply not cost effective to pay our technician to spend time going through them. It may or may not need components replaced (caps, resistors, tubes, etc), controls cleaned/lubricated, alignment, and so on.
