This radio has six tubes that allow it to receive stations especially well with good clear warm tube sound and volume with no hum using just the loop antenna inside the case with no need for an external antenna. It has been tested and should continue to play loud and clear for many, many more years. The wooden case has a dial that lights up when the radio is on. The case has no cracks, chips or odors. I have thoroughly refinished the case and it looks remarkable for a 74 year old. The knobs match and the original hardboard back has been repaired and strengthened and it shows the location of the tubes. The inside chassis has been thoroughly cleaned; the volume control de-oxidized for smooth volume changes and all moving controls lubricated. I have replaced all old electrolytic and paper capacitors in the chassis with new modern capacitors and have checked all resistors. Brittle or bare wiring has been replaced or re-insulated. The photos underneath the chassis show the quality and neatness of my electrical work. All 6 easily found tubes have been tested and questionable tubes have been replaced. The power cord has been replaced with a new 18 gauge brown cord with a molded, polarized plug. The large speaker is in great condition. The radio has been aligned and successfully bench tested for at least 12 hours over several days. The radio size is approximately 8¾ high by 13½ wide by 6½ deep and weighs almost 9 pounds.
