Offered is a clean, vintage fada 1000 “bullet” catalin radio in true butterscotch color with handle, knobs and dial ring having the same original color. I plugged it in and after about 30 seconds of warm up it played, picking up local stations even though it was a little crackly. Appears to be free of any other issues such as chips, melting, staining, restoration but please note a 1/4″ “line by one of the screws on the base, its visual but with a pin nothing can be felt (see last 2 pictures in description). Grill cloth appears original and please note that clear plastic dial cover is loose and has a couple surface scratches. The art deco gold “gemloid” dial face is bright and clean. Overall radio is free of scratches and simply shows a nice 70 year surface oxidation. Dimensions are: 10.5″ x 6″ high plus handle x 5.5 deep. In reading other descriptions a “cloth” power cord is mentioned, this has the typical brown vinyl cord so i don’t know if it’s replaced also note the condition of the original backboard which is original but has edge wear and the fact that (1) screw is missing on the base. Non-guaranteed funds could take longer. The item “Vintage FADA 1000 Bullet catalin radio, butterscotch working & pretty clean” is in sale since Thursday, May 07, 2015.
