This radio receives stations with good clear sound and volume with no hum using just the loop antenna inside the case. In back is an input jack to plug in a turn table or other device. The radio has been successfully bench tested on and off with at least 12 hours on for days and should continue to play loud and clear for many more years. The Bakelite case is a mottled brown with a gold dial that lights up when the radio is on. The screws to mount the chassis were over tightened and cracked the bottom case. I have reinforced the bottom screws holes with metal epoxied to the inside bottom. It is now solid and secure. I have thoroughly washed and buffed the case and it looks remarkable for a 66 year old. The knobs match but 2 are original and 2 are different color replacements. The gold and tan speaker cloth is original and in remarkably good condition. The original hardboard back is still in great condition and shows the location of the tubes. The inside chassis has been thoroughly cleaned; the volume control de-oxidized for smooth volume changes and all moving controls lubricated. I have replaced all old electrolytic and film capacitors in the chassis with new modern capacitors and have checked all resistors. Brittle or bare wiring has been replaced or re-insulated. The radio had a dangerous and unreliable selenium rectifier that has been replaced with a small modern silicon diode rectifier with appropriate resistor. All easily found tubes have been tested and questionable tubes have been replaced. The line cord has been replaced with a new 18 gauge cord with molded, polarized plug. The speaker is in great condition. The radio size is approximately 9¼ high by 15¾ wide by 8 deep and weighs almost 10 pounds. For model Airline 25BR-1542A, Montgomery Ward & Co.
