This is an Arvin model 441T manufactured in Columbus Indiana, USA, in 1950. Except for the changed electronics, it is all original – this is about as good as it gets. How many nights were spent listening to cowboy stories coming from this Hopalong Cassidy radio? Taking youngsters to dreamland, telling tales from the old West from those old-time radio shows, while picturing their favourite cowboy and his faithful horse Topper. Featuring: a black metal cabinet with silver foil front, depicting Hopalong Cassidy (actor William Boyd) on his famous horse Topper and it has the original metal back with an embossed saddle. This is the classic radio that was one of the most sought after radios of its time and one of the most sought after by today’s collectors. This Hopalong Cassidy western cowboy radio is a sight to behold, looking at this design has to make you gasp. The foil of this radio is somewhat worn – but intact and not broken or cracked. It has beautiful with bright silver and black western motif graphics. The case is in good condition only a few flea bites. At some time someone may have painted the back? It has both original knobs as well. As with all my radios it is electrically sound – the tubes are strong and all of the original wax/paper capacitors have been replaced. The cord has been replaced with a polarized plug. It plays exceptionally well the sound is very good with no hum. This radio will give years of good service. The measurements are: 8″ across, 3.75″ high, 4 wide. Every vintage tube radio I sell has been thoroughly serviced – tubes tested, components checked and then the unit is lubricated and cleaned inside and out. The work performed can be seen in the pictures of the chassis and/or found in the radio description.
