Vintage Mid Century 1937 Crosley “Fiver” Tube Radio Untouched and Working Everything Original. Antique Crosley “Fiver” 517 tube radio. This is an untouched model and comes with all original parts. I hooked up an inexpensive antenna (does not come with antenna) and was able to hear several stations but with a fair amount of static. This was an estate sale find, and the light inside the dial works as do each knob. Here is some general information about this radio. Crosley produced several versions of the “Fiver” (five tubes inside) in the late 30′s, and this Model 517 profile is in the shape of a small tombstone. These sets are known for a round brass trimmed dial scale with a mirrored background to give a 3D effect when looking closely. Cabinet shows its age with its attractive wood grain, grille bars, grille cloth, and stylized knobs.
