Vintage 1937 DETROLA 148E Chassis in Restored Walnut Cabinet. Cabinet is in very nice restored cosmetic condition. Veneer has been refinished and is solid and tight with no repairs or wood filler. Cabinet was sanded down to bare wood and then 2 color coats were applied and 15 coats of clear with wet sanding between each coat. We also polished the front brass bezel and replaced the speakers cloth. We did slowly power this up with a Variac over a few hours to test that it powers on. Once on it seems to work surprising well for the electronics not being restored. That being said I’m sure there is dated capacitors and resistors that need to be changed. I could not get the magic eye tube to glow green but the tube did light. A radio of this caliber should most likely be completely gone through and overhauled before being used. Please look at the 12 pictures closely and judge the condition, size and con. Res it is most likely not included in the listing.
