This offering is for a vintage german tube radio and turntable combination. Model 1962 – 64. Unfortunately, the sound qualities in this videos are inadequate and maybe the videos will not be shown in all countries. For this reason I have made several videos. This Braun Stereo-Combination is very nice to look at. The video and the pictures shows the good condition. The design with its clear lines was already trendsetting in the late fifties. These type of Radio have been nicknamed “Snow White’s Coffin”. The SK61 just fits into any living room. This radio is pleasent and certainly is an eye-catcher. Braun his time was far ahead. The radio has the typical design of Hans Gugelot, he designed 1955 the first Music cabinet Phonosuper SK4, consisting of a wooden cabinet made of maple and is fitted with a tube radio chassis, a record player and broadband speaker. The design was already trendsetting in the late fifties. Radios from other manufacturers were still in furniture in the so-called “Gelsenkirchen Baroque”. For these reasons, Braun-Radios were mainly bought by the avantgarde, for example, by doctors, lawyers, architects or higher officials. Some models of the house Braun located in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. These combinations are very rare these days to find and mostly owned by collectors from Braun-equipment. These analogous technology can not be compared with today’s analogous or. Please note the technical equipment was developed about sixty years ago and do not expect a high-end device. The housing is made out of a combination of metal, wood and acrylic. It has some special features, it consists radio, record player and speaker. The radio and turntable are visible protected by an acrylic cover. The combination provides the sound these Braun radios are known for. The radio does not have built-in antennas. Please note this is a Europaen model. FM works up to 104MHz (almost up to 105MHz). The turntable is designed for Stereo-playback of vinyl records. The amplifier tubes are EL84 and EL95. The output power per channel is different 3 W to 2 W. For stereo playback of analogous records additional speaker must be connected. The speeds may be adjusted to 16, 33 and 45 rpm. At the end of the music, the motor switches sometimes not off. The synchronous operation of the disc player varies slightly. The cabinet and the cover have signs of wear. I cleaned the chassis as well as the housing very carefully, minor scratches were slightly retouched with color. Because of their age many electronic components are subject to deterioration and wear. For theses reasons I have these parts replaced with high-quality, new components as shown in the photos of the inside of the unit. For the technically interested readers some details. ECH81, EBF89, ECC83, EL95, EL84. Wave bands: Medium Wave-Broadcast, Short Wave, Long Wave, FM. Power: AC 110 – 220Volt. The mains voltage is adjusted country specific. However, I would point out that the combination, perhaps sometime in the future, may have an error. But even in this case a solution is possible. Attached are the service manuals/schematics, so a good technician can perform possible repairs. Still, if you have any questions about this wonderful device, please contact me. A few words about me. I’m radio and television master of the “old school”. The training in Germany will be made dual. This is of great advantage. It means the trainee is formed parallel in the company and at school. The company provides practical knowledge and the school teaches the theoretical fundamentals. After three and a half years there is a final exam in theory and practice. By the master exam is possible to open his own business and young people to train. My training in the craft began in 1967 as the tube technology was at its peak. Over time I have repaired several thousand devices expertly. All offered radios are in my collection for decades. Now I reduce my collection and offering some special pieces here. I will gladly answer your questions about tube radios. I´m using a check-list with many points for all work which has to be done in an old tube-radio. The furniture was cleaned and polished, but I get his old patina. The finish is original, certainly has the crazing in the finish that is so common to these radios, but it is still shiny and attractive. The original bottom panel is also in place. Please look to the pictures carefully. Traces of use the radio shows make it a beautiful antique. This beauty radio with it’s lovely furniture, dial glass and speaker grille must not be damaged. I will package this radio personally to make sure it is done correctly. My packaging meets the requirements of the German Post / DHL. To prevent future damage in transit, I revised the packaging as shown on the pictures. This is a used radio from my collection and it is offered by private. Usual signs of use are not listed separately and are no cause for complaint. Your questions will be answered professionally. Here was acted with great violence on the packaging. I must point out, that is not my responsibility. The damage was not reported at the post office. In the Nordmende Radio free service was offered. Here you can get an idea of the damage. To prevent future damage, I made the quality of transport-safe packaging much better as shown in the pictures.
