Vintage Hallicrafters World-Wide TW-1000 8-Band Tube Portable Radio. Offered here is a vintage Hallicrafters World-Wide model TW-1000 multiband tube portable radio, a classic early-1950s shortwave set designed for home or travel use. This is the desirable suitcase-style portable with the large world map inside the lid, telescoping antenna, and multiband dial layout that made these Hallicrafters sets so distinctive. Research indicates the TW-1000 is an 8-band tube portable covering standard broadcast, longwave, and multiple shortwave bands. Scuffs, edge wear, and finish wear to the exterior cabinet. Carry handle shows visible wear/aging. Knobs and front trim show age-related discoloration and wear. Thank you for viewing my item! Available is a vintage 1935 Atwater Kent Model 415Q. It is a wood case tube radio standing approximately 17 tall. It has some scuffing on the top of the radio, otherwise the case is in good shape for it’s age.
This item is from before the war, but it is unknown what grade level it is from. There is a hole, possibly where a switch was located. The speaker part has a unique design and is considered rare. Due to its age, there are scratches, dirt, and chips.

Offered is a Philips / Norelco model B5X88A, a high-quality European tube radio manufactured in Holland in the late 1950s. This model is part of Philips’ respected B-series and is well regarded among collectors for its sound quality, engineering, and distinctive mid-century European design. This is not a decorative or untested example – the radio works properly and sounds excellent, making it suitable for both listening and display. Smooth tuning and stable performance. Warm, full-bodied tube audio with no distortion. Dial illumination functions correctly. Tested for extended listening and performs as expected for a properly operating valve radio of this class. ? Model-Specific Technical Details (Collector Relevant). The B5X88A is a 5-tube superheterodyne receiver, designed by Philips and marketed in North America under the Norelco name. Dual speaker configuration, providing noticeably richer and wider sound than single-speaker sets. Ferrite rod antenna system (adjustable ferroceptor visible on rear panel). Heavy steel chassis with classic Philips component layout. European audio voicing known for clarity and balance rather than harsh output. The internal photos show a clean, honest chassis with period-correct components and layout. No evidence of careless modification or modern re-engineering – this appears to be a well-preserved original example rather than a parts unit. Cabinet presents very well overall. Edge wear and surface scuffs consistent with age and careful use. No cracks, major veneer loss, or structural damage. Dial glass, knobs, and trim intact and visually appealing. All cosmetic wear is accurately documented in the photos to ensure transparency. The B5X88A is a known, respected model, and working examples with good cosmetics are increasingly difficult to find.
You will look very long and very hard for a marbled plascon radio in this original condition. Offered for your consideration is this General Electric tabletop tube radio – model C-421, manufactured in the mid 1950′s. It has a striking 50′s looking step design. The radio is in good condition. The plascon cabinet colour is dark burgundy with wine, red and black mottling colours running through it. The oversized 6 inch oval speaker is loud and clear and the radio brings in a lot of stations. This is a working radio ready to play, display and enjoy – the sound is very good with no. As with all my radios it is electrically fit – the tubes are strong and all of the original capacitors have been replaced. Also featuring: classic 50′s body styling, a very unique dial light – it is behind the dial pointer and in a darkened room, it moves with the pointer; the grill is silver and louvred; the knobs are in good shape – both work smoothly ; the cabinet has no cracks or dings and is very shiny; the polarized cord is new; the original back is present, as is the original decal on the bottom. The measurements are: 13″ across, 9″ high and 7 wide.

Radio works and plays nicely. Not sure what upgrades have been done if any. Radio dial stops at 14.50. Volume control is a bit touchy. A few flaws that I pointed out in the photos.
