Kenwood TS-830S Vintage Tube Hybrid Vintage Ham Radio Transceiver SN 4030196. This is a nice rig. It has been well cared for by it’s previous owner, as I hope is evident in the photos. There are only a few light scuffs on the cabinet, and the faceplate looks great. The display isn’t as bright as we’ve seen on other radios, but I certainly wouldn’t call it “dim”. Operationally, this one is ready to go! We tested it out and found everything to be working as you would expect. Please note that no microphone is included, so you will need to supply your own. The manual can be downloaded for free online. Please realize that this is a vintage piece of equipment, and unless specifically noted above, it has not been fully restored with new components. It will inevitably need maintenance, however it’s impossible to know whether that will be next week or a few years down the road. Unless you are capable of doing this work yourself (or have access to someone who can), we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you. This item will be packaged using our new InstaPak foam-in-bag system, ensuring the utmost protection! Bags filled with a chemical mixture expand around your item, then harden to form a protective, yet forgiving, foam barrier. IMPORTANT: You will only receive what is photographed. Siltronix 10 meter tube transceiver with 11 meter receive. A good project radio. Just the transceiver and reprinted manual. No power cord or accessories. I powered the unit up via the Variac using my test power cord. Plenty of static but heard nothing on 10M except a very faint RTTY sounding signal. I toggled the tune switch down and adjusted the output. There could be other issues with the unit that are yet to be discovered. Will require maintenance sooner or later. The unit has been replaced plugged in and it powers on. The fan comes on and I could hear the relay clicking. No further testing has been done. All the tubes are present except for a pair of 6BM8 tubes that are missing. Both power tubes light up. The transceiver is missing the top and bottom covers.
