Yaesu FTDX400 Vintage Tube Ham Radio Transceiver (looks good, untested)

This old Yaesu looks pretty good for it’s age! The cabinet is a little dirty, but should clean up well. The paint is original and there are just a few small scuffs and scratches. The cover is missing the two small screws that secure it in place. The faceplate still has the factory’s plastic film over it. Inside, it’s dusty but will clean up well with just some compressed air. I’m guessing it’s original and unmodified, but I’m not an expert on this model by any means, so please review the photos for yourself and judge for yourself. This is an ideal candidate for electronic restoration! This piece of equipment is believed to have not been used in years (possibly decades). It will almost certainly need some level of service. This may include: replacement of electrical components (such as capacitors, resistors, diodes, tubes, etc), cleaning of controls, alignment, and so forth. This is a good looking FT-101B. It’s been stored indoors for years (not a nasty garage), so it’s in very good cosmetic condition. The cabinet has some scuffs and scratches, but certainly nothing significant. It’s very clean inside and shows no signs of modification or tinkering. It has some filters along the side (which I believe as optional), but I can’t read the labels without taking the entire cabinet off. Included in the sale is the original AC cable! After nearly eight years in business, we’ve made the decision to no longer test vintage equipment that’s been sitting idle for long periods of time. T going to win any beauty contests. The faceplate actually doesn’t look too terrible. However, the cabinet has two holes drilled into the top. If you look at the rear of the cabinet, it is badly corroded, as is the bottom cover. The interior is also pretty dirty. This one will make a great parts unit or something to bring back to life after years or storage! Vintage Lafayette Comstat 25B CB Radio Transceiver Transmit/Receive Tested(Tube)

This unit has been tested, and has been confirmed that it both transmits and receives. I did have to fiddle with the Plate trim to get the power output functioning properly, but in the end did get it to work. I suspect there may be an issue with this part, so if you get this unit and you see power output but no modulation, fiddle with the trim and it should fix your issue. That being said, It was working and modulating just fine when last powered down, and I do not anticipate this being an issue for you. The included mic looks like a Lafayette, manufactured by Euphonics Corp. It seems to function properly. Cosmetically it is in good condition, however a previous owner has etched his name and some numbers into the case in several spots. The chassis is a little dusty. Also, I noticed the range boost switch is either not functioning, or when switched, does nothing. Take a look at the pictures for more details and message me with any questions you may have.
