Sentinel 230UL Vintage Radio. This desktop radio was produced in the 1930′s-40′s by Sentinel Radio Corporation. The radio is vintage and shows its age. It has damage to the plastic display (pictured) and due to the age of the cables I have not tested if it’s in working condition. Please message me with any questions.
This is a Sentinel vacuum tube tabletop radio from the 1940s, featuring a handsome wood cabinet, classic Art Deco grille styling, and all three original control knobs. The radio powers on, tunes stations, and operates smoothly. All controls respond properly. A video demonstration is included in the listing showing the dial illumination, tuning movement, and speaker output. The original 1940s cloth-wrapped power cord is brittle and shows age-related wear. It currently powers the radio, but due to its condition, it should be replaced for safe long-term use. This is typical for radios of this era and does not affect collector value. The wooden cabinet is structurally solid with attractive natural aging and light surface wear appropriate for its era. The Art Deco grille presents beautifully. Please review the high-resolution photos for exact cosmetic condition. The radio retains its original cardboard back cover featuring the Sentennascope Loop Aerial graphic and factory serial stamp. These back panels are rarely found intact and significantly increase collector appeal. Internals appear clean and undisturbed, with no signs of modern repair work or tampering.
The original internal label is still inside the back panel and dates this one to October of that year. The cabinet is sage green plastic with a ribbed front grille, brass tuning dial hardware, and a black carry handle. It runs on AC, DC, or battery power. Tube complement is 1R5, 1U4, 1U5, and 3V4.

This is a Sentinel Radio Model 345 Series A Vintage 1950s – Red – Bakelite? Body looks in good condition as well as interior. No cracks that I can see. Nice deep red color. I plugged in and turned on but couldn’t get any power. I don’t know if I needed another battery that connects to the inside wires?
