Throughout our restoration process we are conscience of preserving the natural wood elements and that all design features remain intact. The cabinet goes through an extensive revitalization process to preserve and retain the hand craftsmanship of these exceptionally designed American cabinets. Using a multi-step sanding process, we carefully remove by hand all the layers of your great grandparent’s old dark mahogany stain, as well as all other repairs needed for these masterpieces. Once the cabinet reaches the bare wood stage, modern day stains and toners are used to highlight the natural wood grains. The cabinet is then treated with a series of thin high gloss clear coat lacquer applications in a controlled environment. The action of wet sanding is applied between each clear coat, eliminating any orange peel effect. A final hand-glazing is applied, ensuring a beautiful mirror like luster and shine! We strive to bring these cabinets back to life, the way we feel they should have or could have looked. By using modern day custom color stain blends and toner color options that ceased to exist in the past along with our combined color & finish studies enables us to complete these cabinets in. A variety of Golden Oak Finishes! We feel these historical cabinets deserve a replacement from an audio aspect as well! By adding a modern day Bluetooth stereo speaker breathes new life into these unique Art Deco cabinets. We do not feel this compromise’s the piece but rather enhances the experience with an updated sound modification. Normally inside these beautiful cabinets the grille is being blocked by the speaker mount by approximately 1/3. As well the cabinet was acting as just a holder for the outdated speaker, pressed up against the grille, therefore receiving no natural acoustics from the cabinet. As well the metal chassis and other components restrict the cabinet from producing any type of quality sound capabilities. Our concept consists of removing all of the old components from the cabinet. The interior is then lined with the highest grade of black felt leaving the roof of the cabinet in its natural wood stage, creating the prefect sound environment! The addition of LED lighting with a High Tech 40-Watt, Dual Sided Bluetooth Stereo Speaker that resides in a custom fit Padauk wood pedestal that is perfectly centered in the cabinet.
