For sale is an original Crosley Metallic Green Clock Tube Radio from early 1950s. In excellent working condition. In 1950 under the Ownership of AVCO Crosley introduced a model line of “COLORADIOS” later known as the “DASHBOARDS RADIOS” that included D-25 Series, produced until the end of 1953. These radios were famous for their style similar to classic car dashboards (like shown on pictures 7 &8). It has a Metallic Green Bakelite housing with gold trimmed knobs and dials. The left dial is an alarm clock that will either ring or turn on the radio when it goes off (not tested). Great Sound from the Large Deluxe Speaker and Extra Filtering. JUST DISCOVERED THIS RARE 1937 ZENITH TOMBSTONE RADIO. IT WAS BURIED IN A CLOSET AND HAS BEEN SITTING OVER 50 YEARS. I PLUGGED IT IN FOR THE FIRST TIME AND LET IT RUN FOR 4 MINUTES TO LET THE TUBES GET HOT. IT FIRED UP FINE AND LIT UP AS WELL BUT I COULDNT GET ANY SOUND, JUST VERY SLIGHT STATIC, AND I COULDNT GET THE TUNER TO TURN STATIONS. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME ITS BEEN OPERATED IN 50 YEARS I WAS TOLD AS IT CAME FRESH OUT OF A ESTATE. IT IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL WITH NO RESTORATION BUT WILL PROBABLY NEED SOME TINKERING TO GET IT TO PLAY UNLESS ITS SOMETHING WITH THE TUBES AS ONE TUBE SEEMED TO GET HOTTER THEN OTHERS BUT I ONLY TRIED IT FOR 4 MINUTES. THE POWER CHORD IS FINE AND NOT DRY ROTTED LIKE HOW THERE USUALLY FOUND. THE CABINET HAS SOME AVERAGE USE WEAR FROM BEING IN STORAGE FOR YEARS WITH SOME SCRATCHES BUT OVERALL STILL LOOKS GOOD BUT PLEASE SEE PICTURES FOR CONDITION. Here is a wonderful 1950s era General Electric tube radio with a bakelite case. It measurs 12 inches wide, 7 inches tall, and is 7-3/4 inches deep. It took a bit to warm up but I was unable to find a station. It does hum, though, and the volume knob works, too. It needs to be cleaned as it is in as found condition. Please review the photos for a complete description. We do not collect these items, and we are NOT experts in the field. Working vintage SK 2/2 1950s Braun midcentury tube radio original condition

This is a beautiful and fully working Braun SK2/2 tube radio with a Bakelite case dating from the late 1950s to very early 1960s. This model was in production from 1959 to 1961. It was designed by Artur Braun and Fritz Eichler in the same year that the renowned Dieter Rams was hired by the firm. With its simplicity and aesthetic beauty, this really is a design classic and can be found in various museums around the world. To me, it still looks genuinely modern, despite the design being around 60 years old. It’s in original condition and hasn’t been repainted or played around with at all. This means there are various imperfections to the paint on the Bakelite casing. Also, there is some damage to the panel at the back, but it’s not loose and remains solidly in place. Despite its original condition and age, it’s still highly presentable and looks fantastic. I’ve tried to show the radio from all angles in the pictures, but can happily provide more photos. There is slight crackling when compared to a modern radio, but it’s still fine to listen to. If you plug in an external aerial (which is not included, but cheaply and easily available), it becomes louder and improves the signal, so you can turn the volume quite low. As it works well and I have no technical knowledge at all, I thought it best to just leave the cover in place. If you want some pictures of the tubes etc inside, let me know. It has its original German plug, so I’ll included a European to UK plug adaptor. If you prefer, you can obviously just cut the plug off and put a UK one on. Emerson 616-A w/Ingraham Wooden Cabinet (1949). Tablemodel, built-in loop antenna. The case of the model 616A was designed by Raymond Loewy, an important industrial designer of the 20th century, who had designed many iconic products and corporate logos. The wood case was manufactured by the Ingraham Clock Company of Bristol, Connecticut, of book-matched american walnut with inlay. Ingraham was founded in the 1850′s and became famous for their especially beautiful mantel clocks. Ingraham began manufacturing radio cases in the 1930′s for several different radio manufacturers, but only Emerson specifically credited Ingraham.
