ATWATER KENT TUBE RADIO & POWER SUPPLY FOR SALE. MODEL 40 — “BREADBOX”. OUR TECH WENT OVER THIS RADIO CAREFULLY. HE UPGRADED THE TUBES SO THAT THEY ARE ALL STRONG. HE ADDED TWO NEW CAPS IN THE POWER SUPPLY. HE CHECKED ALL THE WIRES AND MADE SURE THAT THIS RADIO WAS IN TOP CONDITION. NOW YOU CAN HAVE ALL THE FUN. JUST USE A 1000 OHM MAGNET SPEAKER (there is no speaker included with this radio) , ADD A BIT MORE AERIAL, AND YOU ARE READY TO GO. THE RADIO HAS GOOD VOLUME, GOOD TUNING, AND YOU WILL FIND LOTS OF STATIONS ON THE DIAL. WHO KNOWS — YOU MIGHT EVEN RUN ACROSS GLENN MILLER OR FIBBER McGEE & MOLLY. CONDITION: GOOD WORKING RADIO. PHILCO RADIO FOR SALE. PHILCO CATHEDRAL model 89 RADIO. WITH SOME UPGRADED TUBES. ALL TUBES ARE NOW RATED STRONG. THIS WAS A RADIO FOR THE MILLIONS — SORT OF LIKE THE MODEL T. NOT EXPENSIVE — NO FRILLS — BUT IT DID THE JOB. THIS RADIO HAS DECENT SOUND QUALITY AND SIMPLE CIRCUITS. POWERFUL LOCAL STATIONS COME IN WITH MORE VOLUME THAN WEAKER ONES. YOU ALSO NEED TO LAY OUT THE ANTENNA… 20 FEET WOULD BE GOOD. IF YOU USE IT IN A BALL, YOU WON’T GET MUCH VOLUME. APPROXIMATE SIZE: 15 & 1/2″ x 13″ x 10. CONDITION: GOOD WORKING RADIO WITH DECENT SOUND. THE ONLY REAL FLAW IS A VERY LITE HAIRLINE CRACK WHICH CAN BE SEEN IN THE LAST GALLERY PHOTO. TONIGHT I LISTEN TO STATIONS ALL OVER THE UPPER EASTERN PART OF THE U. I’M BASED IN PITTSBURGH SO IT WAS FUN TUNING IN ALL THESE INTERESTING STATIONS. DON’T FORGET TO USE LOTS OF ANTENNA & PLACE YOUR RADIO CLOSE TO A WIDOW FOR BEST RECEPTION. SOUND QUALITY AND VOLUME ARE MORE THAN ADEQUATE. AND THERE IS A TONE CONTROL TO ADD EXTRAS BASS OR TREBLE. PHILCO CATHEDRAL RADIO PART FOR SALE. From a PHILCO model 84B RADIO. A WORKING 4 TUBE CHASSIS. I PLAYED THIS CHASSIS LAST NIGHT AND GOT A LOT OF STATIONS. THE SOUND QUALITY WAS AVERAGE — EVEN WITH A SPEAKER THAT WAS MISSING HALF THE CONE. DON’T FORGET TO USE A LOT OF AERIAL. I USED ABOUT 15′ OF GOOD QUALITY WIRE. WITHOUT AN AERIAL, YOU WON’T GET MUCH. 1921 WESTINGHOUSE 3-TUBE RADIO FOR SALE. THIS IS A RESTORED / WORKING RADIO. FOR SALE: WESTINGHOUSE “RA-DA” RADIO WITH THREE ORIGINAL EARLY TUBES. IT IS ONE OF THE FIRST COMMERCIALLY RELEASED RADIOS IN THE U. OUR TECH HAS TAKEN THIS RADIO APART AND RESTORED IT. HE PUT IN THREE OF HIS BEST VINTAGE TUBES. HE ALSO CHANGED TWO AUDIO INTERSTAGE TRANSFORMERS (P-T-156). THERE WERE SOME OTHER UPDATES AND PROBLEMS HE SOLVED. THE RADIO NOW WORKS VERY WELL WITH GOOD VOLUME AND LOTS OF STATIONS ON THE DIAL. I restored this chassis 2 years ago and the radio plays superbly. Never managed to restore the cabinet that has damage to the sides and loose base. The chassis is big and heavy with, of course, LOTS of tubes. There is a lot of good data including the original instruction booklet, antenna info, shortwave log book and the schematics used for the rebuild.
