For your consideration is this great little all-original Bakelite General Electric tube radio – Model C66, built in 1949/50. The condition of this clock radio is very good. This is a working radio ready to play, display and enjoy the clock and timer are in good working order and the sound is clear and crisp with no hum. As with all my radios it is electrically sound – the tubes are strong and all of the original capacitors have been replaced and the cord now has a polarized plug. It plays very well. It features a stylized Bakelite cabinet with contrasting white knobs; the decals are still in place on the bottom; the grill is Bakelite; The dial cover is clear; the brass escutcheon for the clock looks great with its red trim; the working clock and timer are a run on a Telechron movement which has been fully lubricated; the tuning control works. Heres a very nice example of a 1952 Automatic Radio Company CL-164B clock radio. This radio has an all-wooden cabinet, and has the original blonde finish, which was very popular with mid-century designs. Ironically, the wood underneath the finish is actually mahogany veneer. The clock keeps accurate time, and all alarm functions (including snooze function) work well. You can plug a lamp into the back of this radio, and itll turn on when the alarm goes off! The radio electronics were professionally serviced within the last 3 months. The power cord was replaced; all of the capacitors were replaced, the resistors were checked and replaced as needed, and all the tubes tested strong. It was aligned and adjusted using professional electronics service equipment. The clock mechanism was disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and the motor coil was replaced. The wires connecting the clock to the radio were replaced with high-temperature silicone wire for safety. All of the knobs are believed to be the originals. I cleaned the cabinet, and gave it a coat of Johnsons Paste Wax. Please consider the pictures as part of my description, and feel free to ask any questions you might have.
