The 56H is one of the more exciting designs from the Motorola brainchild. The turbine or cone model was available in ivory, brown, turquoise, and green. The gold metal cone with station numbers rotated as you tuned into radio stations. The cabinet was a hefty urea plastic. With standard AA5 tubes that are mounted on a Placir double sided circuit board. Sound comes out of a 4 paper cone speaker. The oval knobs are color matching and specific to this model. This beautiful example is in very good condition. The radio is working and currently pulls local stations. Very Good See pictures. Very light wear from use. 12 x 6.75 x 6.25. Here we have a beautiful vintage 1957 RCA Victor Tube Radio. Red & white are the main colors. This radio powers on. The selector string needs to be fixed. We were able to get some stations in by manually moving the station selector. The radio hums and we believe it needs a capacitor. There is a small crack on the top of the housing as shown in picture six. Measures approximately 12-3/4″ long by 8-1/2″ tall and 4-1/2 wide at the widest point. Really nice MCM look to it! This is for an awesome Philco twin/dual speaker mid century modern tube radio circa 19958 or 59. The actual color on this according to philco literature is called salmon but I’ve seen it referred to as orange and also pink. Whatever you call its the people’s choice as far as color goes with only turquoise a distant 2nd. I also put 2 model #s in the description because both were seen several times in my research and actually several others also. Most of any issues are covered in condition description but I will say I just noticed that I somehow managed to miss cleaning the front grill. Its packed now so nothing I can do about it. Cosmetically Its really gorgeous especially for a 50+ year old radio. I wish all the radio’s I get were this nice. It measures approximately 12 1/2 wide x 8″high x 3 1/2″deep and weighs a little under 4 lbs. I have other vintage electronic listed in separate auctions and will be listing lots more in the coming weeks. That’s a proven track record of integrity and honesty. No unmentioned missing parts or saying its in excellent condition and then you look and see scratches and missing paint. Just a straight honest description of whats there , GOOD & BAD. But be nice I make a mistake once in awhile. I sell “ALL” my vintage electronics , “as is for parts or repair” Please read the reasons below. Some of the electronic part/s may continue for another 50 years without need of replacement and some electronic part/s may fail a few days after you start using the item. Electronics were restored, new capacitors added, tubes checked. Original power cord and a new replacement back added. Plays well and picks up many stations. Dial lights up nicely in the dark. Jetsons like future design. No cracks to the case. Case was cleaned and polished. Rare to find these without cracks and only made for one year. This is the SANDALWOOD color/version of this radio looks like it could be straight out of an episode of the Jetsons! The radio powers on when plugged in and turned on and it plays nicely! I was able to tune in several stations here in central Indiana. He backlit dial light works as well! He plastic cabinet is nice and solid and the finish looks superb. The sandalwood color just pops in the sunshine! All of the various dials and switches seem to be working as they should be. As you can see from the pictures, the chassis looks clean but the radio has been in storage for many years so I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning. Chrome Trim & Accents including a beautiful vertical Bass/Treble Indicator. Wild 3D Tuning Dial. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself.
