Rare Working Vintage All-Original Farnsworth BT-61 SW&AM Tube Radio c1937-41

This is all original. It’s in wonderful condition. The radio works on both bands. I made a very short video of it playing a baseball game. I made sure to do that before I claimed in the description that it is a working Farnsworth radio. But it does receive and work and play but it needs an antenna to make the reception a little better, I’m sure. Thank you for shopping with us. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Radio, Phonograph, TV, Phone\Radios\Tube Radios\1930-49″. The seller is “vg500″ and is located in this country: US. Vintage 1940′s Farnsworth Et-066 Tube Am Radio Restored Works Great Very Nice

The model number on this wonderful looking radio is ET-066 & it was produced in the 1946 era. This was a nice radio when it was introduced in 1940′s & still is by today’s standards. The Mahogany finish on the cabinet is all Original & still produces a very nice a low luster sheen or shine & the grain in the wood is pleasing to the eyes as I hope my pictures will show. Noe the cabinet it is not Perfect but Very Nice & just grabs your attention. I have taken many pictures & all pictures can be supersized so you may get a good view at this spectacular looking & working radio. The glass slide rule dial scale is in spectacular condition with Fantastic graphics a working dial light. The 2 brown bakelite/plastic control knobs are original & in great condition. The back panel is original & in good condition that holds on tight & secure. The chassis is in great condition & it is a 6-tube unit with 2-controls 1-ON/OFF/VOL 2-TUNING & both controls have been lubricated & are in good working condition. The tube line up is 1-12SA7, 2-6SS7, 1-12SQ7, 1-35Z5 & 1-50L6. The chassis was restored back in 06/15/2018 & has had all new electrolytic capacitor/filters installed & All wax/paper capacitors were replaced & a nice electric cord has been installed. This radio was restored to good working condition. This Radio would make an excellent addition to your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it’s power & beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter. Sized of this gem is 14″ long, 6-1/2″ wide & 9-1/4 high. This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology “unlike modern day solid state radios” can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV’S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires above your home, etc… So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are directional meaning you “may” have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception. Tube radios take 30 to 45 seconds “for tubes” to warm up before they will start playing. I package very well for a safe arrival. If you have any questions please ask & I will promptly answer & as best as I can. Please ask questions before the end of the sale & not after. Thanks for looking I appreciate it. VINTAGE FARNSWORTH ART DECO BROWN BAKELITE RADIO MODEL ATL-12. Very rare and hard to find. This one is in great shape for its age. Please examine pictures carefully. There is a hairline flaw on the top of the case which is difficult to see. This radio has an AC cord but I have not plugged it in for fear of damaging components. This radio requires restoration of the electronics which can be accomplished with patience and a little knowledge found online. Please check out my other listings because I have many other vintage radios for sale and more added every day. Vintage Farnsworth AM Bakelite Radio ET-064 (1946) RESTORED & EXCEPTIONAL
vintage

This gorgeous jet black radio is in almost perfect restored condition. The Bakelite finish is flawless and has a deep and reflective shine like when it was new. Even the bottom labels are completely intact and like new. And, it is a unique departure from most of the just-post WWII radios with its bold styling. The unusual metal speaker grill insert really draws attention. With six tubes and an internal loop antenna, it receives quite well with very good sensitivity, selectivity and sound. And of course a. S with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. The cabinet was completely disassembled and cleaned, then buffed to a wondrously smooth, shiny and lustrous finish. The glass dial face graphics are crisp, clear and well lighted. The original knobs were polished. The grill cloth is a beautiful new pattern. The back cover is in excellent condition. The power cord was replaced. The photos say the rest about how pristine this radio is and how well it displays. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the internal loop antenna. This baby boomer radio is now 74 years old and looking like it did when new. And, now that it is completely restored, it sounds like it too! It will continue to bring reliable enjoyment for many more years if well cared for. It is an wonderful addition to a collection or as a gift for someone to cherish. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off. Vintage WW ll U. Army Signal Corp Radio Receiver , Made by Farnsworth Television & Radio Corp.. You can see on the Face is says (Fungicide treated jun 18 1945) and (Before Operating Read TM 11-850). I have no way to test this, so I’m not going to. I don’t even want to plug into the 110 volt plug in the back (afraid to hurt anything). If you are into restoring these, this looks to be a great unit to work with. If you just want to show it off in your Man Cave , just leave it alone. The Microphone comes with it model # T17 4858-CHI-42 and on the dial has SW-109 (not sure if this is for it). Everything looks to be in good original condition. The entire unit weighs 60 Lbs. I had a Seasoned Ham Radio enthusiast inform me this is a BC 342 Model and uses a BC 610 Transmitter.
