Vintage Art Deco 1940s Emerson Emersonette 540A Midget Brown Bakelite Tube Radio

This is an awesome little Emerson “Emersonette” model 540A in swirled brown. This unit powers on and has a hum, but I couldn’t get any reception. In really nice shape with no chips or cracks. Vintage Emerson Bakelite AM Radio 547S (1947) RESTORED LIKE NEW

This little beauty looks like it just came out of the box brand new! The dark walnut Bakelite has a deep and very glossy shine as depicted in the photos. And it has absolutely no damage or flaws, which is really amazing for a 72 year old radio. As well, it sounds really good for such a small radio, with great selectivity and reception using the internal loop antenna and powered by five tubes. It is completely restored. As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost detail. The radio was completely disassembled and cleaned. The cabinet was polished to a gleaming luster. The station numbers are still crisp and clear. The dial pointer is back lit for night use. The Bakelite knobs are original, as is the back cover/antenna. The power cord was replaced, but uses the original plug. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with. Paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the internal loop antenna. A smaller radio, it will fit in just about anywhere and is a great conversation piece. Now that it is restored, it will last for many more years if properly cared for. It is a delight for the eyes and ears and a must for the serious collector. Dimensions: 9×5.5×5.5. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good working order. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off. Classy Vintage / Antique EMERSON 587A of Late 40s Restoration Rejuvenation Parts

This EMERSON 587A is the more classy and appealing model of the 587 line due to the nifty woven grille compared to the later production 587B with the metal version. The material of the casing was a new plastic of the era known as Plaskon, this one in Black/Ebony (some models were also in White/Ivory). Suitable for Restoration, Rejuvenation or Essential Parts. Please look at all the pictures (actual, not stock) part of the description and judge for yourself the potential for restoring/rejuvenating to the almost original appearance and function of this cute version of the bygone era’All American Five’ radios. The casing is intact without cracks, missing portions or other blemishes which can be a discouraging restoration issue with an inferior outcome Note that the Flash photos enhance tremendously almost 70 years of dust and dust specs. No moldy/musty damp basement odor. The chassis, the critical and model specific major components on/off switch-volume pot, variable capacitor and front knob tuning mechanism /speaker/IF cans, output transformer etc. The tubes /valves have been checked with a calibrated Eico 667 and found to be strong, without shorts or inter-electrode leakage and good longevity (not immortality). It goes without saying that the electrolytic and paper capacitors must be replaced appropriately and a safe power cord attached. For potential international buyers, nominal voltage 115 V AC 50-60 cycles or theoretically DC! Briefly powered up (with 30 Watts incandescent light bulb for safety) :as expected after almost seven decades, background hum, tuning to strong stations, working volume control! Approximate dimensions: 9″ x 5.5″ x 5.5 (23 x 14 x14 cm). Make sure of its suitability for your specific needs. Make sure when working with tube/valve electronics that you are Cognizant, Comfortable, Cautious and with Company. RARE 1930s Vintage Emerson Wood Radio BL-214 Undocumented Model BF Chassis Works

Rare 1930s Emerson Wood Body Radio. BL-214 Body with a BF-266 Chassis and added tone control. This is a factory built, undocumented model. There were only a very limited amount of these made. If you do a search you’ll see there are a few others that. Are primarily in the hands of serious collectors at this point. This is a completely ORIGINAL, unrestored and working unit. It powers up and the dial light works. All control knobs work. It has a louder hum (probably needs a new tube). I managed to tune a few stations so it does work. Case has the original gold emerson logo, beautiful striped wood design. And classic deco dial. Broadcast band and shortwave. There is no back panel. The condition is VERY NICE. There are a few light scratches on the top, some chipping to the finish on the bottom. It is a great candidate for restoration, probably one of the finest originals you’ll find.
