The radio is in amazing condition for its age. Clock works and keeps time (alarm not tested). Radio has been restored in 1999. Please look at all the pictures as they are part of the description and condition. Antique tube radio reception can differ greatly depending on location, length of antenna, time of day and amount of interference in different areas. Many modern day appliances can also interfere with reception and cause static, distortion or buzzing. It’s reception, sound and performance should not be expected to compare to a modern radio with today’s technology. This Radio is in Good Working Vintage Preowned Overall Condition. It has been plugged in, and yes both clock and radio works. With minor signs of age/use. The hard to find shaft is included with this radio that sets the clock. The wooden, covered with simulated black leather case, is in really good shape with some minor scratches, spots, tiny paint drops etc. Not an expert in old radios but everything seems to work well. Everything is original, electrical cord is in good shape plug in and enjoy the music. Clock tuning knobs are missing, radio tuning knobs and logo plaque are present. Vintage Mid Century 1937 Crosley “Fiver” Tube Radio Untouched and Working Everything Original. Antique Crosley “Fiver” 517 tube radio. This is an untouched model and comes with all original parts. I hooked up an inexpensive antenna (does not come with antenna) and was able to hear several stations but with a fair amount of static. This was an estate sale find, and the light inside the dial works as do each knob. Here is some general information about this radio. Crosley produced several versions of the “Fiver” (five tubes inside) in the late 30′s, and this Model 517 profile is in the shape of a small tombstone. These sets are known for a round brass trimmed dial scale with a mirrored background to give a 3D effect when looking closely. Cabinet shows its age with its attractive wood grain, grille bars, grille cloth, and stylized knobs.
