RESTORED Electrohome 1940′s vintage wood cased tube radio

The distinctive cabinet is in very good condition given its age and made from walnut veneers and contrasting hardwoods – very pretty. The This is a working radio ready to play, display and enjoy – the sound is clear and crisp with no hum. As with all my radios it is electrically sound – the tubes are strong and the all the capacitors have been replaced. The radio plays very well and should give years of good service. The radio features: a working dial light; a good-sized speaker; bakelite knobs; a stylized wooden grill with original grill cloth; and a slide rule dial. The cord has been replaced and has a polarized plug. The approximate measurements are: 11″ across, 8″ high and 6.5 deep. Every vintage tube radio I sell has been thoroughly serviced – tubes tested, components checked and then the unit is lubricated and cleaned inside and out. The work performed can be seen in the pictures of the chassis and/or found in the radio description.

Emerson Model 544 Vintage Art Deco Wood Cased Table Top Tube Radio. Vintage Emerson model 544 wood cased tube radio in as-found condition. The radio is missing the cord, which showed extensive cracking to the insulation. The case is in pretty nice condition with no cracks or major damage. There is some minor wear to the one back corner and some light spotty finish wear in spots as pictured. The working condition after a cord replacement is unknown. Would be a nice candidate for restoration. Refer to the photos for a better idea of the condition, you will receive the exact tube radio that is pictured. Vintage or antique items with remnants of original contents are not for use or ingestion. Sound quality of analog recordings is hit or miss, playability is not guaranteed. Vintage Bakelite Cased Murphy Type A 192 Radio (Tube & Valve Collectable Sound). Vintage Bakelite Cased Murphy Type A 192 Radio. This seems to be in full working order. It powers up and white noise comes through the speaker. I wasn’t able to tune it to a station. The radio has been fitted with a new power lead. The casing of this radio is made from Bakelite which has a brown coloured finish. Through time the Bakelite has acquired a strong patina. The front panel which contains the speaker has a cream coloured finish, which compliments the dark colour of the Bakelite beautifully. There are three Bakelite knobs to the front, all of which are intact and in working order. The tuning dial is glass with coloured markings. This is intact and is in excellent, readable condition. The dial is marked: Murphy 192. The back of the radio is currently loose, but provided with the radio. It is marked: MURPHY RADIO LTD. C MAINS RECEIVER TYPE A. Height: 25.5cm (10). Zenith Model 5S127 Wood Cased Vintage Tombstone Tube Radio. Vintage Zenith model 5S127 wood cased tombstone style tube radio in as-found condition. Radio is in as-found condition, just given a quick wipe-down. The cord has been replaced at some point. When tested, it lit up, but did not get reception, the issue(s) is unknown. The case is in good condition with no breaks or major damage. It does show some scratches to the finish and finish wear. Would be a nice candidate for restoration. There is some age related scuffing in places to the wooden casing but this isnt to severe and does nothing to detract from the piece when on display. The radio powers up with the glass panel having a backing light behind. The radio is very impressive in size and measures 57cm in width with a height of 35cm and a depth of 23cm. Radio has good exterior condition for its years – see pictures carefully. The front of radio (dial, knobs) is original, the back cover too. The wooden cased restored (colored). I added photo inside of radio looks like each detail is on its place. The radio is nice working. The light in the dial works. The green eye light too. Radio catches station on all bands LW, MW, SW. Radio is nice and clean. The Radio goes with power cord, but not original. Radio checked from AC 220V works well. I can’t check from 110V-127V – i can’t guarantee it will work!!! Step UP Voltage converter transformer from 110 V to 220 V. Country: Soviet Union Latvia. LW: 150 – 410 kHz (2000 – 732 m). MW: 518 – 1525 kHz (579 – 197 m). SW: 4.28 – 12.1 MHz (70 – 24.8 m). Sensitivity: LW – 150 V, MW – 200 V, SW – 250 V. Output power 3 watts. Power consumption is about 65 watts. Dimensions: 315 – 480 – 250 mm. Weight – 10.4 kg. VEF Super M557 is made in a rounded wooden case and is equipped with a large round dial with backlighting, on which the designations of wavelengths, frequencies and city names are plotted with colors for the respective ranges. At the bottom of the scale in the window, the included range is indicated in this color. Optical tuning indicator – magic eye allows you to silently tune to the desired station. Management: the volume control combined with the switch (left knob), the control knob (when it is pulled, the UPCH band expands), the range switch (right knob). In the first issues, the HF range covered the sections 16 m and 19 m, later it began only with 25 m. The receiver is built on octal lamps in glass and metal (with the control grid upward) cylinders, manufactured in the USSR under license from RCA. The design of the radio is the development of the pre-war line of receivers with a round dial (from VEFSuper MD / 39 to VEFSuper M517). Installation is made on a U-shaped chassis; large structural elements are located above, and smaller parts are located in the basement of the chassis. The PYE 1107 was a 6 valve radio produced from 1961 in Cambridge and is capable of picking up three bands; long wave, medium wave or the then relatively-new FM. The radio is a fairly wide tabletop model with a wooden case and measures 560 x 305 x 180 mm. The radio is in very good condition and has great sound quality. The back light is in working order.
