Vintage Bakelite Cased Murphy Type A 192 Radio (Tube & Valve Collectable Sound). Vintage Bakelite Cased Murphy Type A 192 Radio. This seems to be in full working order. It powers up and white noise comes through the speaker. I wasn’t able to tune it to a station. The radio has been fitted with a new power lead. The casing of this radio is made from Bakelite which has a brown coloured finish. Through time the Bakelite has acquired a strong patina. The front panel which contains the speaker has a cream coloured finish, which compliments the dark colour of the Bakelite beautifully. There are three Bakelite knobs to the front, all of which are intact and in working order. The tuning dial is glass with coloured markings. This is intact and is in excellent, readable condition. The dial is marked: Murphy 192. The back of the radio is currently loose, but provided with the radio. It is marked: MURPHY RADIO LTD. C MAINS RECEIVER TYPE A. Height: 25.5cm (10).
