Vintage 1960 Bulova clock radio. This is a tube-style radio, not a transistor radio. Two tubes can be seen glowing through the back grill of the radio in Photo #11. Clock runs and keeps perfect time. Only problem is that the “off” button for the radio doesn’t operate — the radio is on all the time. Volume can be turned all the way down so this isn’t a major problem. Both knobs are original and firmly attached. Very little surface wear to the plastic case, which is in excellent condition with no nicks or chips. Has original sticker on bottom of unit with tube specs and serial number. Item is about 6″ tall, 5″ inches from front to back, and 12-1/2 wide. Here is a very nice tabletop radio from Bulova, their Model 100. Probably from the late 1950s. This has a vacuum tube design and is a nice aqua color. It has some light scuffs and scratches, and a bit of dust, but is in very good condition overall. The radio works ok. The volume and tuner knobs work fine. The grill for the speaker is in very good clean condition. The clock also works. The plastic crystal is clear with a few light scratches. It kept the correct time while I had it running. Very nice brassy hands. I did not test the alarm. It has a crack on the bottom that goes across. It is not visible from the front. But may need some glue. Overall a very nice vintage tube radio. Please ask for quote from these areas. Smoke/Pets: Items I sell are from typically from estates or other third parties. RARE VINTAGE LOT of 3 SPACE-AGE BULOVA COMET BOOMERANG TRANSISTOR RADIOS. These splendid Bulova 620 radios were manufactured in the USA circa 1957 The BEIGE radio made some sound but I couldn’t tune in any solid stations. The TURQUOISE radio did play on a couple different channels. The RED radio did play on 2 different channels. One of the classic 1950s transistor radio designs Bulova’s own name, “Comet” describes the cabinet face well enough, and “parabola” would be the only term more accurate in description Somehow the’50s word “boomerang” has erroneously become stuck to this radio, and no matter how hard the Bulova Comet rejects the term, it just keeps coming back… Very nice as a display pieces It is an exquisite example of the art of transistor radio design. Bulova had their beginnings in 1875 when Joseph Bulova a 23 year old immigrant from Bohemia opened a small jewelry shop on Maiden Lane in New York City. In 1926 Bulova produced Americas first radio commercial and in 1928 they introduced the worlds first clock radio. Bulova radios were obviously aimed at the wealthy and affluent. These are beautiful designed radios All 3 radios still have the handle that serves as a stand and an antenna. These are hard radios to find in any condition. FROM THE 1950′s ERA.
