The clock radio is extremely clean, with no cracks in the plastic case. The clock keeps perfect time. The radio when turned on has a loud hum. All the tubes light up, which makes me believe that the resistors need replaced. Superheterodyne (common); ZF/IF 455 kHz; 2 AF stage(s). Power type and voltage. Alternating Current supply (AC) / 60 Hz, 117V = 110 -120 Volt. Permanent Magnet Dynamic (PDyn) Loudspeaker (moving coil) / Ø 4 inch = 10.2 cm. Plastics (no bakelite or catalin). Tablemodel with Clock (Alarm-) Clock Radio. 12.5 x 6 x 5.75 inch / 318 x 152 x 146 mm.

If you are looking for a restored 1960′s era tube radio that can be played as often as you like and for as long as you like, please read on. This radio set has been restored to it’s original condition and is ready to bring another lifetime’s listening pleasure to it’s proud new owner. You will be satisfied with this radio set because no detail inside OR outside has been overlooked in order to deliver both “dependable performance” and appealing cabinetry. Every effort has been made to offer a practically new radio, performing as it did originally, and to be maintenance free for quite some time. The ivory polystyrene cabinet is in excellent condition without any cracks and has been thoroughly cleaned inside & out and hand polished to restore it’s original showroom finish. In addition, the brass accent dial knobs have been polished and overlacquered to prevent future tarnishing. The original reflective front grille from 1963 is just spectacular. This model measures 12″ X 4″ X 5high. Also, the electrical cord has been replaced with a new polarized cord for safety. A thorough clean job. Check out all the photos. The electronics inside the chassis have been totally overhauled. This radio uses 6 tubes. All 6 tubes installed in the radio are “New Old Stock”. Included in this sale will be an extra set of NOS tubes. So, your go-to-go for some time to come. Please note: it is normal for the inside of vacuum tubes to appear burnt or mirrored. The vacuum inside a tube is achieved by burning metal inside the enclosed glass bulb which consumes the atmosphere inside the glass envelope thus creating a vacuum. This appearance is normal and not an indication of a defect. Following the restoration, all radio circuits were re-tuned to their specification using instrumentation. The realignment of radio circuits after replacing key components is especially critical on FM. Without correctly balancing this circuit, FM will play with various levels of sound distortion. Furthermore, the balancing circuit can only be performed using instrumentation. Consequently, moving the radio from side to side will change the reception. This is normal and not a defect. I have attached a 4 foot single wire antenna for FM reception. I happen to live within the greater NYC Metro Broadcasting area where radio signals are very strong. Depending on your geographic area, your experience could be different. Should you require better reception on FM, as part of this sale, I will enclose a brand new di-pole indoor antenna for you to use instead of the single wire coming with this radio. Thoroughly bench tested, this vintage BULOVA radio set is ready for it’s new home. I will double box using new cartons so that your new radio arrives undamaged in transit.

Vintage 1960 Bulova clock radio. This is a tube-style radio, not a transistor radio. Two tubes can be seen glowing through the back grill of the radio in Photo #11. Clock runs and keeps perfect time. Only problem is that the “off” button for the radio doesn’t operate — the radio is on all the time. Volume can be turned all the way down so this isn’t a major problem. Both knobs are original and firmly attached. Very little surface wear to the plastic case, which is in excellent condition with no nicks or chips. Has original sticker on bottom of unit with tube specs and serial number. Item is about 6″ tall, 5″ inches from front to back, and 12-1/2 wide. Here is a very nice tabletop radio from Bulova, their Model 100. Probably from the late 1950s. This has a vacuum tube design and is a nice aqua color. It has some light scuffs and scratches, and a bit of dust, but is in very good condition overall. The radio works ok. The volume and tuner knobs work fine. The grill for the speaker is in very good clean condition. The clock also works. The plastic crystal is clear with a few light scratches. It kept the correct time while I had it running. Very nice brassy hands. I did not test the alarm. It has a crack on the bottom that goes across. It is not visible from the front. But may need some glue. Overall a very nice vintage tube radio. These splendid Bulova 620 radios were manufactured in the USA circa 1957 The BEIGE radio made some sound but I couldn’t tune in any solid stations. The TURQUOISE radio did play on a couple different channels. The RED radio did play on 2 different channels. One of the classic 1950s transistor radio designs Bulova’s own name, “Comet” describes the cabinet face well enough, and “parabola” would be the only term more accurate in description Somehow the’50s word “boomerang” has erroneously become stuck to this radio, and no matter how hard the Bulova Comet rejects the term, it just keeps coming back… Very nice as a display pieces It is an exquisite example of the art of transistor radio design. Bulova had their beginnings in 1875 when Joseph Bulova a 23 year old immigrant from Bohemia opened a small jewelry shop on Maiden Lane in New York City. In 1926 Bulova produced Americas first radio commercial and in 1928 they introduced the worlds first clock radio. Bulova radios were obviously aimed at the wealthy and affluent. These are beautiful designed radios All 3 radios still have the handle that serves as a stand and an antenna. These are hard radios to find in any condition. FROM THE 1950′s ERA. How good would these radios look in your collection! What a relief from the plain rectangular boxes other radios are always housed in. Please feel free to ask questions.
