Vintage 1946 Truetone D2613 Green Bakelite Tube Radio Art Deco – Parts/Repair. For sale is a beautiful vintage 1946 Truetone Model D2613 tabletop tube radio in a highly desirable hunter green Bakelite/plastic cabinet. The green cabinet is in great shape for its age. The lattice grille and control panel show great Art Deco styling. The three original cream control knobs are present. TECHNICAL CONDITION / READ CAREFULLY. This radio powers on and the internal dial lights up. The speaker emits a loud rushing static noise when the volume is turned up, but it is currently unable to tune into any radio stations. The flat cardboard back panel containing the loop antenna is completely missing, which is likely why it cannot receive signals. Do not leave it plugged in for long periods without an electronic overhaul.
Has expected wear and tear for its age but the french green is still an eye catcher. The radio works and picks up stations. She is old so it takes a little for her to warm up. Vintage, made in the USA in 1937! The dial light does not come in but the radio reception is decent here in Seattle, WA. No cracks in the case, but there are a few scuffs/knicks. Nothing major at all considering this radio’s age+.
This is a Zenith model number G725 on a 7G01 Chassis. The radio works perfectly, and sounds amazing once tuned in. It will probably need a good cleaning and service before use. Bakelite is in pretty good condition for it’s age.
