Vintage American Bosch model 565 tube radio in a tombstone style cabinet, from what I believe 1936. The chassis is complete and all original. The power cord is bad and this will require a complete electronic restoration before it can be played. The cabinet is very solid with no damage. The original finish looks to be in very good condition and would only require some minor cleaning and touching up. The original grille cloth is faded but in good shape. The dial cover is foggy and warped, which is common (reproductions are available). See photos for details. Radio will be double boxed and well packed so that it arrives safely.

Vtg American Bosch Tube SB Band Radio Model 420 Powers On Dials Move With Sound

Vtg American Bosch Tube SB Band Radio Model 420 Powers On Dials Move With Sound. Found this old tube radio along with some other items I’ll be listing at an estate sale. This is the 1935 model and is ready for restoration and to sit on your mantle. It did power on and lit up but without an antenna or knowing how to connect one to this model I could not locate any stations, plus the wiring is old and will need replaced if you decide to restore it. You could leave sit on your mantle and make it a nice art piece. Robert Bosch founded the Bosch Magneto Company in Germany in 1886. He built a plant in Springfield Mass. By 1920, the plant produced half of the electrical starter parts for the American automobile industry. By 1929, they were producing radios. As WWII started, Bosch started producing magnetos for aircraft. Citing possible German loyalties, the USA took over production, returning operations back to Bosch in 1948, changing the name to United American Bosch. The model 420 is a five-tube, two-band (SB, police) mantle radio. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Radio, Phonograph, TV, Phone\Radios\Tube Radios\1930-49″. HTF Vintage American Bosch Model 450 Around The Globe Tombstone Radio
vintage
Comments Off
Hard to find American Bosch Model 450 “Around the Globe” tombstone tube radio that is a good candidate for restoration. Unit has been partially restored, with new capacitors installed throughout, but the radio does not function – no sound at all. Cosmetically, the finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. There is some veneer damage – cracks and minor chips and the grill is missing a small piece. The layer of veneer covering the grill is missing as well. The grill cloth is in good condition with a minor tear and all of the knobs turn smoothly and properly, but dial indicator is sluggish. The power cord is in excellent condition. Radio presents well and the contrasting birds eye maple and mahogany veneers really make this radio stand out. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered. Vtg PHILCO Wedge Twin Speaker Radio Rare American Airlines Promo Tube Bakelite

Vtg MIDCENTURY PHILCO Twin Speaker Radio wedge. Rare red American Airlines logo Front plate. Great dual collectors item that hits a Mark both in Radio and aviation collectibles. 30w Tube amp radio. Bakelite exterior is in geat shape w minor pressure cracking by rear handle see pics. Powers on and this sucker can get pretty loud. Has slight hum but both knobs work great without and crackling in sound. Both the board and Bakelite were dated 1954 but this was not in the philco 1954 line. Otherwise very good Condition for Age. I’m assuming this was some sort of gift or promotional item for American Airlines, on the web I’ve spent hours researching this and cannot find one instance of American Airlines ever working with philco but they must have as the face and knobs look to have been on the radio from the beginning. See pics for interior details. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Radio, Phonograph, TV, Phone\Radios\Tube Radios\1950-59″. The seller is “new2uthriftshop” and is located in this country: US.
