Very stylish with the dark walnut/off white cabinet, it stands out and is a real treat to see and hear. It is modern (1955) plastic, yet it still evokes the look of a Bakelite radio. With seven tubes and an internal loop antenna, it has great sensitivity, selectivity and fantastic sound for a single speaker radio. There is an external antenna connection if needed for improved reception in your locale. It looks as if it just came out of the box brand spanking new! As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. The radio was completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. The cabinet was polished and the results, as you can tell from the photos, are stunning. There is absolutely no damage or flaws to it. The polished knobs and back cover are original. The power cord is a replacement. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. The trouble prone selenium rectifier was replaced with a modern diode. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the internal loop antenna. While you may find others of this model for sale, I doubt you will find one that has been so meticulously restored and in such complete pristine condition. It is a must for a collector or those looking to decorate with a mid century theme. It will continue to bring many more years of visual and audible enjoyment if well cared for. Dimensions: 13×7.5×7.5. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good working order. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off.
