Original grill fabric is not ripped, some water stains, not separated along edges. LOGO: No missing logos. Detrola front decal is not flaking off. KNOBS: The original tuning knobs are all matching in excellent condition no cracks no chips securely attached. LETTERING: No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial numbering. The tuning dial works fine no slipping or sticky spots. Tuning back panel is a rare unusual metallic painted red burgundy color. DIAL LIGHT: not tested due to age of cord. BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board is secured and attached to. POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are not tested in old condition with cracks & splits. This is a very cool rare Zenith radio designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Zentih, ca. This model turns on. Dimensions: 13″ wide x 6″ deep x 7.75 high.
The distinctive cabinet is in very good condition given its age and made from walnut veneers and contrasting hardwoods – very pretty. The This is a working radio ready to play, display and enjoy – the sound is clear and crisp with no hum. As with all my radios it is electrically sound – the tubes are strong and the all the capacitors have been replaced. The radio plays very well and should give years of good service. The radio features: a working dial light; a good-sized speaker; bakelite knobs; a stylized wooden grill with original grill cloth; and a slide rule dial. The cord has been replaced and has a polarized plug. The approximate measurements are: 11″ across, 8″ high and 6.5 deep. Every vintage tube radio I sell has been thoroughly serviced – tubes tested, components checked and then the unit is lubricated and cleaned inside and out. The work performed can be seen in the pictures of the chassis and/or found in the radio description.
