Tubes seem to warm up fine. I didn’t hear any stations that actually had sound. No idea how well it works but all the timers seem to work. Has some cosmetic issues as shown.
Gorgeous, classic mid-century design by one-time leading brand Zenith. Model appears to be L5222W from 1952 production, but original stamp is somewhat unclear. Cabinet is all original factory-molded Bakelite and factory painted in vanilla cream. Not repainted, no over spray, no touchup – none needed. All original factory metal film trim pieces and the knobs are in excellent condition, no rub off or peeling. This model has a Bakelite rear cover painted in matching vanilla – not cardboard as in earlier models. Product information and instruction label is attached to bottom of cabinet, with creases and tears around the edges from age. Electronics and Telechron clock are working well and quietly with no issues, but radio doesn’t seem to be turning on or tuning – may just need replacement tube(s). Cabinet and knobs are in excellent vintage condition: no cracks or breaks in cabinet; there are several small chips and scratches in paint, some marks and age-related wear, oxidation of metal parts and screws; clear plastic dial covers are undamaged but have some minor smudges; clock face is slightly rotated – this appears to be from original production. Knobs and dials are securely attached and operational. See photos for details of condition. Radio was gently used then stored in a dry, cool environment for a long period of time in a no-smoking, no-perfume, no-pet environment. Measures approximately 13″ x 6″ x 6 and weighs 5 lbs 10 oz.
This is a vintage item, approx 70 years old, so please understand it will not work perfectly and may need maintenance or repair. Not all channels had reception (just static) which in my experience is normal for vintage radios. The backing on the radio is loose, the top fasteners were removed. I took photos the best I could have the inside through the small space provided. It has some wear as seen in photos. Overall, I believe this is a very nice radio and vintage piece. But that is my opinion, please examine the video and photos to form your own opinion.
This nostalgic radio model is a collectible item for vintage audio enthusiasts, featuring a classic design and brand. With its retro aesthetic and functionality, this radio adds a touch of charm to any space, making it a unique piece for collectors or vintage electronics enthusiasts.
Vintage 50s Westinghouse Mocha White Tube Clock Radio H-640T5 Retro Mid Century. 14 x 6 x 5. Condition: Used but in good condition. Clock & radio work BUT the radio knob DOES NOT TURN past the 6. This will need work, the doze knob is missing and some general wear from age. Please see pictures for reference. Please note, when first plugged in the tubes take just a minute to warm up and start working.
White Plastic Case (possibly bakelite). 7″ H x 12 1/2″ W x 6 1/2 D. Condition: minor wear commensurate with age and use (minor paint chips, some mild scuffs/scratches, slight discoloration throughout). This unit is UNTESTED/UNRESTORED. It will likely need re capping to be fully functional. All original electronics appear to be present and powers up. I hear it change frequencies when tuning. Please thoroughly review all photos to fully evaluate condition.
