Here i have for sale is a 1951-53 zenith h500 5h40 trans-oceanic radio. It does work, but will/should be recapped before long term use. Someone crudely spliced in a new cord. Overall the case is in okay condition for its age. It very solid though the vinyl does have some flaws in a few spots. A very good unit for restoration.

Distinctive Art Deco design Norther Electric Baby Champ model 5000 table radio from 1946/7. Refinished to highlight iconic waterfall / rainbow design. Radio dial colored to match. Includes original propeller style dial indicator, external antenna terminal. Dial illuminated with LED lamp. 100% tested and in working condition. Please note: while this radio has been restored to original specifications, it employs vintage technology. When manufactured, it was not subject to the large amount of radio interference generated today from LED and fluorescent lighting, modern electronics, cell phones, flat screen televisions, computers, etc. Careful placement of the radio is often needed to minimize interference. You may need to experiment with locations to obtain the best reception. Also, as this is a tube radio, it takes up to one minute to’warm up’ before you can listen to broadcasts.

Radio is clean and looks great. DIMENSIONS: Approximately 10″ x 6″ x 6 (l x w x h) 2 of the 5 bulbs light up but the three smaller do not. The radio makes sound and the volume works. Cabinet is original factory molded brown Bakelite. There is one small crack on the bottom left hand side as shown in picture six (barely noticeable but wanted to disclose). If you have any questions please contact me. All pieces are original and I don’t believe anything has been modified.
