Through most of the 20th Century. Their tube radios were generally high quality with great sound and good looks. This example from 1949 is in a chocolate brown high gloss bakelite case and is the standard American Five tube chassis configuration. The radio has been thoroughly renewed with new components added where needed to assure it operates within the original specifications. Most of the old capacitors have been changed out as they were originally a paper and wax construction and had become brittle. Several resistors were also changed. The tubes have all been tested and operate as they should. This radio does not have a dial light. A new polarized power cord has also been installed. As with all tube radios, this one takes a minute or so to warm up and then plays really well with strong reception and plenty of volume. It has a large speaker and great sound. Cosmetically, the case is in great shape with no cracks or damage and features the original baked on gloss finish. The knobs do show some of the original gold paint trim worn and there is a stabilized spider-web bruise on the left side of the dial lens (see photos 4 and 6). This radio is a good size for lots of locations. It is a little over 12 inches long, 7 inches high and 6.5 inches deep. The case and chassis have been thoroughly cleaned and the case waxed with carnuba wax to bring out its shine. There is lots of metal inside the radio so it is quite heavy.

Vintage WWII 1940′s Type CAY 47153A NAVY Aircraft Transmitter Radio Tuning Unit. This interesting piece of military history would make a wonderful addition to any military collection and would certainly be a great conversation piece. It has the original steel case. All the dials, inscriptions, hardware, original specification plates are in great condition. The outer steel case has some wear and dents as expected from age and use. I have no way of actually testing this tuning unit and would not want to damage any of the components. This is very heavy and weighs a little over 18 pounds.

ZENITH (USA) vacuum tube radio, model 7H520. Width 37 cm, height 21 cm, depth 18 cm. As for the appearance, there is a crack repair mark on the upper left side. Other than that, there are a few small scratches, but considering that it is more than 70 years old, I think it is a beautiful product. The transparency of the front dial is sufficient and I think it is in a beautiful state. There are no four fixing screws on the back cover, but I don’t think you will feel any particular problem because the back cover itself is a pin-jack insertion method for the power supply. As for the reception of the radio, it is only the built-in antenna, but I think it is generally good. We have confirmed the reception of NHK, etc. However, please consider it as a reference only. We do not have any knowledge of such products, so please check and judge with photos. In addition, since it is a very old product, operation cannot be guaranteed. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as “gifts” Because declared value is insured value. Besides US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
